Good to see the smaller stables taking all but one of the races at York yesterday.

    J Bethel…

    G A Harker…

    T D Barron…

    D Carroll…

    D Shaw…

    D Nichols…

The above trainers took £66511 of the £73181 first prize money on offer

Not as big or enter the winner’s enclosure as often at W Jarvis, Sir Michael Stoute, M A Jarvis,Saeed Suroor, M Johnston, or J L Dunlop who had horses at the meeting.

Neil, your R Guest, PT Midgley 59, R Fahey nor J Dunlop has winners at your on the day I mentioned

I can see your general point, but for the record D Nicholls has had 53 winners this year compared to Michael Jarvis’s 37 and William Jarvis’s horrendous 4.

Are you quite sure you mean "smaller stables"? Mr Nichols currently lists 99 horses in training on his website, and that does not include those on the sidelines.

You seem to be confusing "small" with "northern-based". Just because they’ve got accents does not mean they are "small", you know. Aren’t you being a little… well, condescending?

    No I am not….

Even Mr Nichol’s stables, animals and owners will not compare to the likes of Jarvis, l Stoute, Jarvis,Saeed Suroor, Johnston, or Dunlop & Co

Oh yes they will. Mr Nichols has more in training, I believe, than either of the Jarvises for a start – and more winners this season than both of them put together. To describe him as a "small" trainer you must be judging solely on physical stature. Otherwise, what you say makes absolutely no sense whatsoever … it’s pure anti-northern prejudice!

Well would you prefer not top-of-the-tree-stables?
