Another of my fave events at the track, that, alongside the Ian Straker Memorial

    GC,

Is he any relation to Ivan Straker ?

Btw, if the Tant Pis Chase was translated, it would come out as the rather less appealing Rough Luck Handicap Chase.

A couple of years ago i was watching some racing in the french provinces and one of the runners was called sick my duck, true story too, imagine you had to call that in a tight finish, never be allowed to name it that in this country.

I think it nearly ran in England once – it was Thierry Doumens horse if I remember correctly, and had an entry for a race at Newbury.

There was a horse called Big Tits who ran in France back in 2003.

Sadly the RP don’t do the little pen-pics of the horses anymore!

oh dear….still, if we’re into that theme and its pictures you want david:

FortyTwo Dee was owned by Triumph International, who are in this business:

The (possibly apocryphal) story goes that when it became clear it was going to win a race by some distance the commentator started throwing it all in – "a real handful", "plenty of support", etc.

    best regards

Not entirely sure, AP – there was some sort of article on him in the

    Post

around the time of the 2005 renewal, but it’s not retrievable from the website’s news archive at the moment and I’ve run out of free uses of Highbeam. Under this alias, anyway… 8)
