I think he’s right and I never understood why horses especially in GB are allowed to drift all over the place. Most of the times even with no Stewards’ Enquiries taking place.
Doyle was quite arrogant and he seems to know that they can get away with everything. By the way this could have been very bad at Donny today.
Agree, ERL. Doyle was arrogant, which I was disappointed to hear.
Sanders is right. One of the few pundits in the otherwise hopeless racing media prepared to give an opinion and not interested in maintaining a cosy friendship with jockeys and trainers.
I agree its good that Sanders will mouth his opinion but I’m not convinced you can keep a horse straight if the horse decides against it. The Dancing Pirate at York being the prime example

The biggest disgrace was that no stewards enquiry was announced. You can’t be sure what was involved in the various interference without a proper enquiry. There was no interference in a race a couple of weeks ago but a stewards enquiry was announced and the placings reversed.
There was a Stewards Enquiry, reported as below:
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line, involving, the winner FINAL OBJECTIVE (IRE), ridden by James Doyle, FAST TRACK, placed fourth, ridden by Tom Marquand and IN THE BLACK, placed fifth, ridden by P. J Macdonald. The interference was found to be accidental in that passing the ½ furlong marker with the runners in close proximity, Tom Marquand the rider of FAST TRACK (IRE) accidently struck IN THE BLACK with the whip which caused that gelding to shift right-handed towards the heels of FINAL OBJECTIVE (IRE) there-after, FINAL OBJECTIVE (IRE) stepped quickly left-handed, despite Doyle’s best effort to straight the gelding, causing in IN THE BLACK to become short for room and McDonald to check when placed on the heels of FINAL OBJECTIVE (IRE) resulting in IN THE BLACK clipping a heel and stumbling after the line.
Having seen the head-on I’m not convinced that James Doyle made his ‘best effort to straight(sic) the gelding’.
