It’s a fabulous race. The top three will all take some beating, so I’ll have some fun at bigger prices.

Envoi Allen is probably being prepped for the Grand National, but I’ll have a go. I Am Maximus was probably being aimed at Aintree until last time out, and I can’t rule out further improvement.

I doubt envoi is being targeted at the national

He’s a windy stayer at 3 miles so 4m2f way too far

He will probably run poorly in this then run a cracker in the ryanair again

Likely to be heavy, and a real slog, so may see a few withdrawals. Might suit I Am Maximus

If the ground remains like this and they go a decent gallop, I Am Maximus definitely has a chance and is quite a tempting price currently.
He’s fast improving and his last run has been given a big boost, made all the more impressive considering it was too short for him also.

Something I noticed with him since his first run for Henderson. He has the strangest galloping style I’ve ever seen. He appears to be slightly disabled as his front 2 legs are all over the show as he gallops.

I wonder how many times Fastorslow would have to beat Galopin Des Champs before he was shorter than him in the betting for a race.

Beats him this time Ian and he will be short for the GC.

Rightly or wrongly there are reasons for GDC’s underperforming the last twice.

I get what you mean though.

I’ve had a small bit on I Am Maximus in the hope this falls apart.

Surely whoever wins tomorrow will start the GC as favourite? Big day for antepost backers of all three.

I’m bloody sure if Mullins trained Fastorslow he,d be fav tomorrow , I’ll gladly take the value , we’ll find out about Gerri tomorrow , I just don’t think he jumps quickly enough

I taken on GDC lto with a very small lay, but i wont be doing it tomorrow, he will win this well, FOS will struggle on the ground, hoping he can still run a nice race though, i was all over GC last season antepost  but hes no chance here, absolutely no chance, this is the place lay of all place lays IMO, ill be going against him to 2-3 & 4 places, will be a sore one of ive reasd this wrong! Will hold off until the morning incase of NRS, but thats the way ill be going

Envoi allen is 5x the price for a head difference and he barely scraped past at the line, barely, have to fancy him if you like GC

This is as deep a field as yous like to see a 2nd season chaser in, the only thing IMO he has going for him is that the race could turn into a mess, which is the only slight worry i have,

But then i am maximus will win and my cover on him will suffice

    Good luck guys

The problem Gerri may have is this is very likely to be steadily run

With the only pace angle being Conflated it’s not going to be an end to end gallop and he’s shown several times it takes him ages to get going

Appreciate it made the running last time but doubt he will try that over 3 miles on soft ground

I have a sneaking suspicion that galopin will either lead or sit second to Conflated

He’s been locked away for too long time to unleash him again

I’ve joined Kendicate on Appreciate It, I thought his run in the John Durkan was good and he likes getting his toe in. Has form here on the ground- I also did a Chanelle Pharma 2021 ew double with Ballyadam in the 3m hurdle.

The year is 2026 and Fastorslow has just beaten Galopin Des Champs, who has been jolly every encounter, for the tenth consecutive time.

“The ‘real’ Galopin Des Champs will turn up this time!” declare his supporters (for the tenth time) as they make him favourite yet again.

Then the two horses directly switch yards, Fastorslow goes 1/10 and no one talks about Galopin Des Champs any more.

    Who needs Old Moore’s Almanac?

Fastorslow should be at worst joint fav surely?

Can see gerri going off fav if their is any heavy in the going description so will hold off for now

If GDC hits 3.75 or Fastorslow hits 6.0 I will part with a few pennies

I may also wait to see where townend lines GDC up, if he’s lining up looking like he’s going to be prominent il definitely back him as long as he’s not sub 3.0

No Jack , Nicholls told everyone he was undercooked first time out , he also made a bad mistake , as for RP the course and ground suited him more , Fastorslow has beaten GDC fair and square twice , as I said if he was a Mullins horse has be seen as the new pretender and prices accordingly
