Keen on Lyreen Legend who looks likely to go for this race. Think he’s still well over priced for the race at 25s at last look. Rock solid 2nd in last years RSA, foot perfect all the way around and only looked beat in final 100 yards (after Boston Bob took a tumble of course!).
Travelled ominously well in the Lexus before race fitness kicked in and given easy time on run in. In the Hennessy he jumped poorly for the first four/five fences but warmed up nicely. Had no answers to Last Installment on the run in (Gold Cup EW player), but will improve for less testing ground and Dessie has been giving positive vibes.
Also very keen on Al Ferof who should run a huge race!
February 19, 2014 at 13:55 #468479Best bet of the festival is Cue Card @ 5/2 with Bet365 now they’ve gone NRNB.
If he doesn’t turn up you get your money back BUT if he does turn up does anybody think he has less than a 29% chance of winning ?
I doubt there is anybody involved in racing who would think so and he should be closer to an even money shot with that concession.
Lee
4/1 now Lee with the same concession……..

And Joe Tizzard said at Plumpton yesterday….. "he’s in great form, did a great gallop and just got to keep him in one piece now…."

March 12, 2014 at 18:55 #471256Backed Al Ferof for this quite some time ago NRNB, but I suspect he has not retained his former talent and that his disappointing runs have not simply been a stamina matter.
I’m not a Dynaste fan and it looks a very woolly Ryanair to me now, well worth chancing a couple at big prices: Medermit at 33s and Rajdhani Express at 25s.
I always liked Medermit though things seldom work out for him as he almost always find one too good. But he’s run well at a few festivals and King reports him in really good order, so he’s worth an EW at 33s.
I love the look of Raj Express – a festival winner last year and he looks to have scope for improvement. By Presenting, he should relish the ground and is 10 points longer than he should be imo.
I’m talking myself into an Exacta here!

My horse ran a screamer, but Dynaste a worthy winner.
March 13, 2014 at 17:36 #471530Fair play to Dynaste and a great ride. They might as well retire Al Ferof now along with BB, because he’s gone, I’m afraid.

He ran a cracking race Rich, I was on Rajdhani Express, and at the top of the hill I was getting a bit excited, but after the second last I was just happy he held on for third.
I decided to take advantage of one of the smaller internet bookies which basically gave me a bet to nothing as they were offering to match bets up to £50. Stuck £25 e/w, but I still get the bonus even though my bets up. Racebets is the firm…..good on them
