This thread will come with a wealth warning. I had a terrible Royal Ascot last year. My only winner if I remember rightly was Rosallion in the St James Palace stakes

I already have him and a few others at bigger prices but for thread purposes I’ll go with what’s available at the time now.. 🐎

First bet is the first race and it’s a belter of a race. Rosallion although running well in the Lockinge should come on heaps, leaps and bounds for the effort. Dancing Gemini and Lead Artist both set the early season standard but I’ll be disappointed if Rosallion isn’t a better a horse. The wealth warning would be if the rain came although Notable Speech and Porta Fortuna also provide an attack

    4/1 Rosallion Queen Anne £10.00

Yes you’ll need a lot of luck, Nathan
Royal Ascot is the last meeting I’d hang my Summer Betting hat on between the fast ground and large fields with draw so important.

    Thanks Jac and Zilzal
I like a challenge. Ante Post will be on the group races and handicaps played late if at all … 🧐

The Coventry looking a one horse race.. I’d imagine the second favourite will go to the Chesham.. even if he turns up here Albert will hand him his arse on a plate. Einstein looks a monster, will cruise at the likely fast pace.

    6/4 Albert Einstein Coventry £20

    Just remember:
However big the field and however competitive a race looks…
Punters can have as big a chance of winning the race as he / she wants…
By backing two, three or ten selections!

    It’s not cheating. :rose:
…But will also mean needing more winners to show a Royal Ascot Profit. :-(
…As my Grandfather used to say “You pays y’money and y’ takes y’ choice”.

    Good Luck Nathan. :good:

Field of Gold is best price 1/1 now 50/50 heads or tails, going isn’t a inconvenience as such, he seems pretty resilient, keep out of trouble and circle the field again if you have to. He settled much better at the Curragh and that can only be a good thing.

I was all over River Tiber. I started the Jersey thread and must have made about 20 posts on it explaining why River Tiber was the NAP of the festival.. :rose:

Starlust has run plenty of times over the past couple of years and my overriding take out would be he is best over a stiff 5f or an extremely quick run 5f. He’s versatile regard track position. This horse has never won when having a break of over a month and is 6 out of 13 when running within a month of a last run, 5/10 when excluding International races. Good news here is he has run at Haydock with Royal Ascot coming within 30 days of that.
His Ascot record is 0/2 but both times that was over 6f … The group 1 Commonwealth cup where he breaks fast and if you pause it with just under a furlong to go he is right up there with Inisherin before fading.. Similar to his previous Ascot run. His run in the Nunthorpe where he ran up with the pace before staying on again would suggest Ascot won’t be an issue over the stiff 5f and its the distance rather than the track for his down the field positions

14/1 Starlust King Charles III Stakes £5.00

Looked into going on the Tuesday as the card is fantastic and so many beautiful horses running
I’m still processing the idea but a ticket in the Queens Enclosure which would be a must for me to be able to gain access to the parade ring is £99, train ticket to hit the times needed is £75 best price, a loss of a mornings work I could get in before racing and not having to wear a suit and sweat my nuts off has me leaning towards staying at home and watching it on the telly.
A shame Ascot isn’t part of the rewards for racing scheme as that would have swayed me towards going.

Inisherin has been far from perfect yet when he runs his best races looks very, very good.. Has a Royal Ascot win against his name.. Showed as he was alive at Haydock with an encouraging run. I’m normally one to take him on but 5’s looks generous and although there is plenty opposition he’s surely the one to beat on his day

I’ve gone in again on Field of Gold..
I think he’d flexible enough regard going. Quick going ✅
Any rain and he has the required stamina

Qirat ran a fine race albeit beaten favourite in the Victoria cup.. He’s lightly raced, not as lightly raced as My Cloud but that may work in his favour as he’s more use to the big field handicaps. The going whatever it is will unlikely inconvenience him. He was running on strong enough in last years Britannia Stakes. Always starts favourite so expect him to shorten

    22/1 Qirat Hunt Cup £5.00
