It is “Good, Good to Soft in places” on the round course and “Good” on the straight track, which came after a deluge of rain on Tuesday morning, but there is only a small chance of an isolated shower at the Berkshire course on Wednesday and temperatures could reach 24C.

Its pretty marginal on the readings but once the jockeys get it in their heads one side is better ground they’ll nearly all go that way and make the bias look bigger than it is. I’ve always thought the stands side ends up quicker because the races on the round course end up on the far side rail and the ground cuts up but it’ll swing as more of the straight track races go near rail, it always does at some point.

You’ll get clever cookie syndrome kicking in within the media and pundits tipping high drawn horses because they are high drawn and no other reason.
