I’ve answered the question, I’ll let you make up your own mind about individuals.
December 18, 2022 at 18:52 #1627296No you haven’t Richard. I’ll remind what you said.
“ Reform are simply taking their far right and racist element back from the Tories. I welcome any split on the right, keep it coming”So who are these people? Do you know them? Is it Tice?
December 18, 2022 at 19:01 #1627297Can anyone help me find the clause in TRF’s terms and conditions which states forumites, as a condition of continued membership, are obliged to answer questions even once, never mind twice?
If I ever press anyone for an answer everyone should feel free to remind me of this posting.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"December 18, 2022 at 19:10 #1627300Who are they? Some, not all, of the 8% polled who’d vote for them. Many of them can be found on social media platforms. The views of some of them can be read in the freely available national newspaper articles I linked to.
There is no need for me to comment on individuals such as Tice, he has a large platform from which to air his views and you can make your own mind up. I have.
December 18, 2022 at 20:05 #1627303So in your opinion Richard, is Tice right, far right or hard right?
January 6, 2023 at 06:43 #1629828No one has seen fit to mention Sunak’s speech earlier this week. Hardly surprising, given how uninspiring it was. Then again, Starmer’s response the next day was a good cure for insomnia.
I know some people said they wanted politics to be dull again but does it really have to be this dull? It sounds like two accountants pitching for who can manage decline better. Grim stuff.
January 6, 2023 at 08:36 #1629830MSM were fairly muted after their boy Starmer’s speech, ramble, or whatever it was.
Labour gained so much in the polls just by doing nothing and letting the cons rip themselves apart.
As a GE draws closer, Labour will have to communicate more, and that’s where they will be exposed as a poor alternative, they too won’t be able to defend themselves.
I don’t think the cons currently will win the next election, but there’s a lot to play out before that.
January 6, 2023 at 08:55 #1629831I love the way the right thinks that the mainstream media is left wing.
The Sun, Mail, etc are anything but.
January 6, 2023 at 08:56 #1629832‘Labour gained so much in the polls just by doing nothing and letting the cons rip themselves apart.’
Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake and all that.
Assuming Reform stick to their word (which is of course a massive leap of faith), this is a further headache for the Tories.
Who exactly is the MSM please? Large parts of what I would use that term for are pro-Tory or neutral. Guardian, Mirror and to an extent Channel 4 lean left. There’s not much else out there that does.
January 6, 2023 at 09:34 #1629835Yes as it stands Richard, the Reform vote will only split the tory’s and weaken their vote. On that one, depends how the red wall behaves. Farage would alter things somewhat if he entered the arena.
No matter what they say, you can add the BBC and ITV too to that list.
January 6, 2023 at 11:17 #1629847Incredibly rare for me to disagree with CAS, but politics isn’t meant to be entertaining.
Inspiring is a nice to have, but it doesn’t even have to be that either.
Sunak is in a tight spot – and though he’s miles in front in the polls, Starmer is only leading because the government is struggling and he’s painting himself as Tory Lite.
I hate to burst GSP’s bubble, but he’s clutching at straws.
Plenty said Blair offered no real alternative in 97 – he didn’t need to, he just needed to keep his nose clean and watch Major collapse.
Same deal here – expect a particularly dull game of chess until Sunak gets desperate near polling day when still behind in the polls.
But dull is preferable to the celebrity buffoonery of Johnson or Trump.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"January 6, 2023 at 12:13 #1629853I don’t watch ITV so can’t comment and it’s pointless discussing BBC as most people seem to conclude it’s biased against their own world view. Point is there’s plenty of right wing press (most of it) and TV (GB News, Talk TV) for people to consume if they so choose.
The Tories know the game is up, it’s clear the vast majority want them out but there’s nothing we can do to force an election which is at least 18 months away. No point either Sunak or Starmer bringing out their A material, save it for the election.
Reform say they won’t stand down but we’ve heard that before. They need to grift all those £500 deposits yet before throwing half their candidates under the bus like last time.
January 6, 2023 at 17:56 #1629899In literally the last five minutes, a couple tried to invade Chezza’s body space by putting their basket on the counter while Chezza was still concluding his transaction.
“I’m still serving this customer, sorry sir,” the excellent Waitrose employee said to them and Chezza.
Glancing briefly to his left at their basket, Chezza replied: “They’re buying The Daily Mail – that tells us all we need to know.”
Plenty of vile right wing MSM, read by plenty of vile, pig ignorant, people.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"January 6, 2023 at 18:07 #1629901As you say Richard it would be madness for party’s to show their hands this early. The world and even closer to home will probably look quite different come the time near an election.
If Farage enters the arena it will cause some turbulence, but whether that will translate into any real shift to affect results?
There is suggested strategic voting between Labour and the LDs to defeat the tory’s. If the polls stay as they are, Labour could just do it on her own.
So much to go though before ‘the event’!
January 6, 2023 at 21:10 #1629918Is every one expecting Sunaks name to be on the ballot paper …. Don’t be surprised if it’s Johnson , he,s staying quiet for a reason
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 6, 2023 at 21:39 #1629926HDLG- you’re spot on there. If the Tories are still miles behind in the polls next spring, they’ll be looking to get rid of Fishy Rishi and pinning their hopes on Bozo to win them another election.
It’s very much a case of “break glass in case of emergency” for the inveterate liar.
January 6, 2023 at 22:02 #1629931I wouldn’t rule it out either BUT, if Johnson thinks 2024 is a lost cause, he might be very happy to stay quiet, see Sunak humiliated and pin his hopes on a “Second Coming” in 2029.
