Hang on: aren’t the Tories meant to be about personal freedom of choice? 🤔

I thought Conservative ideology dictated that the state wasn’t meant to “nanny” individuals?

Another cracking piece by John Crace:

    I especially liked this bit:

“For Laura Trott, the shadow education secretary, there were about 15 people in the room. The rest of the audience had disguised themselves as seats again. Still, not all bad news. Eight people were watching online. A figure that soon went down to one. For a while I wondered who this one poor sod was. Then I realised it was me.”

    Made me laugh, anyway.

Council tax premium for high value homes – saving £0.

Child benefit charge – Saving £0

    Inheritance tax – Saving £0.

This is personal to me but I’m sure there will be a good many more folk who will benefit the same as me for the proposed Tory tax cuts.

Only 4.72% of estates are eligible for inheritance tax under the existing rules.

Yet the masses seem to be hell-bent on eradicating it, even though it doesn’t affect them. Britain’s “doff your cap and tug your forelock” culture seems destined to never go away.

It would be nice to pay a million quid in IHT.

Meanwhile under the Tories if you inherited this place you’d pay zilch.

The Tories looking after the rich , what’s new , we’ve seen this manifesto before , if you don’t tax then you don’t have services and people are dying in ambulances in the hospital carpark ….
