Good old Kemi (remember her?) trying desperately to stay relevant… by dragging the Tories even further to the right.

True One-nation Conservatives must be at their wits’ end.

I honestly think that there is room for a ‘One Nation’ Tory party and that it would do reasonably well. Obviously it’s not going to happen because they were all kicked out and Badenoch is making the same mistake as Labour in thinking that you fend off Reform by copying them. It’s infuriating.

I see she is partaking in more fake outrage about Churchill being taken off banknotes. He’s been on there for less than a decade and let’s just ignore the fact that banknotes frequently get redesigned for security reasons amongst others.

No substance, just culture wars nonsense.

There’s a fledgling group of ‘one nation’ types launched earlier this year by Ruth Davidson called Prosper UK

He has no chance whatsoever. London will turn Green before it turns Tory; in fact, Notso’s advisors should be sacked for this. Taking on Labour in London is political suicide: this could kill Cleverly’s career.

Maybe he’s only doing it so that he can defect to Restore afterwards (Reform will be toast by then).

He has a career left to kill?

Had to laugh at the description of him in the Guardian article on this as a ‘Tory heavyweight’. Technically correct I suppose, it’s all relative.

Always reminded me of Homer Simpson (the real one). Before he grew his beard he always had a five o’clock shadow a bit like Homer.

Obviously Homer is a lot more intelligent though.

“He has a career left to kill?”

He was actually favourite to become the next leader of the Conservative Party, although his odds have mysteriously lengthened since this announcement.
