Ratings Method – Dusted Off!

Generally bet win only on the top selection though do occasionally back the top 2. Didn’t have a bet in the Stewards Cup but picked up good points in the Big Handicap Competition.

Did try covering Class 4 handicaps when I started the thread but soon realised weight of racing made it very time consuming. I’ve found that the ratings tend to be less accurate in the lower classes, I had Monhammer top rated at Musselburgh yesterday but wouldn’t back the old b*gger with buttons, though even he failed to lose a poor contest!

I will cover the Class 4 handicaps at Brighton this week as they tend to be quite competitive, though nowhere near the standard they were when I regularly attended the Brighton Festival in the 1980s.

I think Adam is happy enough being able to gallop his horses on the beach every day and it does make for happy horses. His dad’s place used to be the local riding stables so they have quite a lot of land attached to it and they have put a gallop into it. But he did use the facilities at Hazelrigg quite a lot. It’s an amazing stables with every facility going. I remember when it was first built…we scouted around trying to find it but it was quite secretive at the time. Only got to eventually see it when Rose had an open day. Then again I wonder if the Willis’s might want to get involved?

Four good top rated winners today, particularly chuffed with Dancing In Paris at 17/2 who is difficult to win with and was given a peach of a ride by Hong Kong based Luke Ferraris.

No surprise that the word Soft finally figures in the going (at Hamilton) as we have had a fair bit of rain up here over the past week.

Often end up watching random football matches or cricket on Youtube. Yesterday I watched Orkney FA Parish Cup Final in which Holm beat Birsay 2-1 in a pretty decent game. It was played in drizzle and the excellent commentary team were lamenting the fact that summer still hasn’t arrived in Orkney.
