Bankable goes over 1m2f for the first time this Sunday and early indications show that 4/5 may be the price the horse goes off at.
Slightly short if you ask me. I’d want at least 11/8 to back Bankable for this especially as Lady Deauville is on a three-timer for Franny Norton at 5/1.
Will Bankable stay? Will Bankable win?
September 13, 2008 at 18:38 #180805I’ve only only made a tentative start to this race for tomorrow, but remember Bankable was beaten by Passage of Time over 10F at Newbury – thus sparking TRF’s version of the 100 years war!
September 13, 2008 at 18:45 #180806I think bankable will stay but won’t touch it at 4/5. Lady Deauville is the only viable alternative IMO and I would be the one for me. Stayed on in many races and will like ground.
September 13, 2008 at 19:37 #180809Wasn’t Lady Deauville the horse that beat Andre Fabre’s most recent runner in England at Salisbury a few weeks back?
September 13, 2008 at 19:51 #180810Yes that’s the one and the more I look the more I am keen on it for tomorrow If I get 5/1 I’ll have a large one EW
September 13, 2008 at 21:16 #180816Wasn’t Lady Deauville the horse that finished 3rd to Muthabara earlier in the season when Muthabara won doing cartwheels?
Now that Muthabara has her ground again for the first time since that impressive victory, I don’t see why she won’t be well and truly in the shake up and be a better value alternative than Lady Deauville.
September 14, 2008 at 01:08 #180834Here we go again…..
One would hope *ankable would put this to bed and go on from there next season.
Not worth backing at odds on imho unless you have serious wonga to play with.
Zip.
September 14, 2008 at 11:28 #180869I like Bankable a lot and his win at Goodwood in the soft was really impressive. However, in his only run over 10F he was beaten in a Listed race. I suspect he’ll like the ground better today than the faster ground he experienced at Newbury, but I really don’t rate him an odds-on shot.
Lady Deauville looks a real hard-case, she stays 10F and handles soft ground. She’s won a number of Listed events and deserves her go at this level.
Lady Gloria ran well last weekend and although she’s up in trip she’s a G3 winner over 9F (admittedly against her own sex) but if she’s given a soft lead she could run better than the market indicates.
Muthabara should have had conditions to suit last time out in France and was beaten a long way; Indian Days may not handle the soft ground and is up in class, Championship Point doesn’t look the force he was and Drumfire is a Mark Johnston horse so I wouldn’t even guess how that one will do.
I’ve backed Lady Deauville and Lady Gloria.

We know he stays already!!
I was a big fan of MUTHABARA and if she hadn’t run such a shocker last time out she would be of interest EW.
No bet for me.
September 14, 2008 at 13:22 #180889I think Championship point e/w on this ground would be the one for me, but bankable has a cracking chance at a price that leaves no margin for error.
September 14, 2008 at 15:53 #180908Nice work on Lady Gloria, Reasonoverfaith
September 14, 2008 at 20:24 #180981Cheers HTH, Queally did well for me there.
If I were greedy I’d complain about not backing her at 60,70 and 80, which was available briefly today. I ‘only’ backed her at 45.
September 14, 2008 at 20:40 #180989Haha, I backed *ankable with my Vision D’Etat winnings. Not the smartest move…..
I thought I had it when *ankable hit 1.12 in running….
September 16, 2008 at 17:04 #181278*ankable is becoming a costly beast!
I didn’t back him on Sunday as I was skint and didn’t fancy his price.
However, I know I will have a punt on him soon as I am convinced he will win his group race…much like Firefox .
Hopefully we’ll get another look at the animal this season..
Well done RoverF on backing Lady Gloria at a lovely price.
