How are racing post standard times arrived at?
A friend has mentioned they are made up of the 10 best times over the last 5 seasons for a mature horse carrying 9 stone on good ground.
I would imagine mature would be a 4 year old + and the races would have been a class one or two.
Regards johnJune 5, 2012 at 10:40 #406952I think that is pretty close to the truth, but the horses in question are rated at 100.
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains

I will work on that basis
although I seem to be too big with allowance in weight
when I add weight for age to weight for class
example 2year old race class 5 over 5 furlongs(my allowance is 33lb weight for age added to 25lb class allowance =58lb
thanks again johnJune 6, 2012 at 09:35 #407061Thanks purwell
regards johnJune 6, 2012 at 11:26 #407069Thank you for your help purwell
I will work on racing post criteria
Although I am having trouble getting my head around allowing 33lb weight allowance +25lb class allowance for a 2yo winner of a class 5 race
Thanks again john - AuthorPosts
