Big meetings tomorrow in Singapore and France can Presvis win tomorrow should do with Moore back on.Will Rocket Man become fave for Golden Jubilee after he wins tomorrow
And the guineas meeting in France where Marchand’Dor returns after a bad year last year. And can Special Duty win 1000 guineas and will Siyouni win 2000 guineas any thoughts on these races
May 15, 2010 at 22:59 #295883Rocket Man’s trainer is eyeing up Melbourne in October and November, so we won’t be seeing him at Royal Ascot.
I think the Kris Flyer Sprint just depends on whether Rocket Man’s sent straight to the lead or not. If he leads, he wins. The Golden Shaheen seemed to suggests he needs open galloping room to get up to his high cruising speed. Gold Trail might try and put up some resistance and fight to stop Rocket Man getting an uncontested lead, but that wouldn’t be wise for his own chance. Joy And Fun will put himself in a position to have a chance, whereas Happy Zero takes time to get going and might need luck.
I was shocked at how short Gloria De Campeao was in the Singapore Airlines Cup. Jolie’s Shinju should just ensure that the farce of the World Cup and this race last year doesn’t happen again. What wins I don’t have any idea, but I’d be stunned if Gloria De Campeao could pull off another big win.
May 16, 2010 at 12:22 #295936In France – Special Duty looks a cracking bet at 13/8 doesn’t she?
We’ll find out in 10 mins I suppose.

I just got a tenner on at 8"s in running Corm,a certainty beat for various reasons!
May 16, 2010 at 12:52 #295941Might yet get the race TAPK – Liliside barged her way out in front of Full Steam and in turn hampered Rosanara.

Special Duty a certainty to win this. I may be speaking through my pocket but French rules are clear. My result is +£7 through the winner and +£1100 the second past the post. Rosanara was a killer. Glad the winner flattened her.

The French B******s i mean Stewards will know the King of England is on now though! You know my luck with those inconsistent frogs! A certainty beat though!
May 16, 2010 at 12:57 #295945Presvis. How many times do you need a replay to see the tactics are not working? He doesn’t need to lead on the post – just take a look back and see him running away with races at Sandown and Newbury. Moore is stubbornly riding a typical Moore race to the detriment of the horse – too many times he messes up failing to even get fancied runners into contention (see Verdant yesterday). The softer ground wouldn’t have helped Presvis but no real excuse as it probably didn’t benefit the others either.

Hmmm. I think I disagree with you there Mr Stivli. It’s the racing pattern that a top trainer has judged to be best suiting the horse. He was knocked over at the start and by the winner in the straight.
Presvis was still held up in the races where he ran clear at the finish. Opponents don’t tend to fall away as easily at Gr1 level as they do in those ( Sandown/Newbury ) contests. Your anti Ryan Moore sentiment is noted but somewhat unfounded in my opinion. He’s only ever as good as the horses on the day.
Unlike many other jockeys Ryan Moore can actually extract a little extra from most horses. Like all jockeys he is human and prone to the odd mistake.
May 16, 2010 at 13:20 #295952Well after
Inxile
was wrongly disqualified for doing jack S**t wrong along with Dar re Mi! This Lillieside is as guilty as sin for doing a Dylan Thomas and costing me a grand on Youmzain at 66/1,therefore the French will tie themselves in knots over this one! Fallon was robbed of a place too today! Longchamp is a joke of a course!
May 16, 2010 at 13:21 #295953There’s only Ryan who can actually win on the horse – far better having Moore on than the crook or another jockey.
May 16, 2010 at 13:22 #295954Nick Luck will sort it!
May 16, 2010 at 13:26 #295955I have had a good bet on
Dick Turpin
today and now i"m beginning to wish i never bothered! Too many things to go wrong around Longchamps turns that can all be affected by the draw!Imagine running classics in this country with a draw bias?? Oh i forgot we do when they water at Newmarket!

French stewards outdoing themselves again here. Another race already run and still no decision. At least Betfair could refund my Rosanara liability or reopen the market.

Now they’re parading for the next and there’s no confirmed result for either of the previous two races. Disgraceful!

Well about time one went my way in France. When was the last time a horse won two Classics via the stewards room?
May 16, 2010 at 14:07 #295964^^Quite incredible, isn’t it?
Such a shame that Special Duty will always be remembered as the filly who won both her Classics in the stewards room, rather than on the track, where her ability merits such an honour.
The right decision was made in both races.
