I’m sure there was a horse in America called Sofa Can Fast.
Say it quickly.
October 20, 2002 at 10:39 #101321Don’t know if anyones mentioned this one yet but TRAINED BY THE BEST is a crap name IMO.
October 20, 2002 at 18:51 #101322I hate TRAINEDBYTHEBEST as Pipe is not the best to everyone, although he’s good. I was thinking it was a bit of a peurile and girlie name myself.
October 21, 2002 at 08:15 #101324One that annoyed me was when Derek Thompson was commentating on a horse called Milngavie it is a place just outside Glasgow and when pronounced actually sounds like MILGUY he never once got it right.
October 21, 2002 at 12:57 #101328Clearly Frank And Alison Farrant who own Trainedby Thebest felt it was an appropriate name – I suppose when you’ve had the success that they have it is a fitting tribute.
Perhaps Willie Muir’s owners will start naming their horses Trained by the worst, Clueless trainer, or Waste Of Space!
October 22, 2002 at 21:05 #101330Smithy,
Or just Hawk Wing!
October 23, 2002 at 07:26 #101332maybe we could have a whole series of these then…
TRAINEDBYTHE UGLIEST
RIDDEN BYA MUPPET
BOUGHT BYA TOSSPOT

November 1, 2002 at 14:19 #101337A late withdrawal from the Breeders’Cup Distaff was the beautifully named "Ivanavinalot".
November 1, 2002 at 16:33 #101339"Buffythecenterfold" was a worrying one in the BC.
November 1, 2002 at 18:21 #101341…………….surprisingly enough, named after a rather striking looking blonde lady named Buffy Tyler (although I may have her surname wrong) who was, surprisingly enough, a Playboy Playmate Of The Month or Year or some such nonsense (I don’t subscribe – and if I did it would be for the articles which I’m reliably informed are very…um…informative).
November 1, 2002 at 19:51 #101343Rory – You’re so convincing……
November 1, 2002 at 20:20 #101345That’s the trouble with men ……
November 3, 2002 at 18:38 #101347Don’t I know Tete
May 13, 2011 at 06:17 #355189Fav in the last at Perth the other day – Sargent Foaley – started life only a couple of weeks previously as Moresambowsplease! How did that one get through?
