I have wondered over the years how all-weather tracks and other mid week meetings can financially justify opening their gates. The number of people attending some of these meetings could be counted via the eye.
An individual once stated to myself that a racecourse manager reportedly said that if they had their way, they would not open the gates to the public.
Obviously the overall funding of the industry is dependent on these daily meetings. Could anyone inform how much these tracks recieve from SIS? I would have thought the likely figure is the main source of funding.
