Eclipse
King George (many would say…im not always so sure)
Heffermans race
Thats off the top of my head
September 28, 2007 at 12:11 #116935No….
Havent mentioned the Irish Leger…cos im not at all sure….
wait until ive replied
September 28, 2007 at 12:19 #116936Pretty clear since that the likes of Archipenko and Yellowstone would not win a Group 1 regardless of how they ran. Admiralofthefleet ran on his merits for sure in the same race.
The likes of the King George and Irish Leger don’t wash at all. The ride Scorpion got in the Irish Leger was much the same as the one he got in the King George…and it certainly didn’t do him any harm in the Irish Leger. Scorpion of course was just coming off a run against another stablemate (Septimus) in the Coronation Cup (Scorpion the less fancied of the pair beating Septimus).
September 28, 2007 at 12:21 #116937The only one that caught my eye was the race at Tipperary with MCL….I mentioned my suspicions on here and started a thread on it on talking horses. Subsequent events (particularly last nights run where Heffernan gave him a similar ride but slight more forceful resulting in MCL completely throwing in the towel) does raise questions marks about that one as well.
September 29, 2007 at 15:46 #117128Well I dont have any idea whats going on! but remembering that Ramonti was second in the Italian Derby on soft ground how come Excellent Art is 15/8 fav. Obviously on Sussex Stakes running Excellent Art had a great chance of turning the tables but at 15/8! – is this just the O’Brien fan club blindly backing their guru?.I cannot believe Tabor would have been on heavily at that price.
September 29, 2007 at 16:20 #117134For once, I take my hat off to Frankie Dettori for taking my advice and kicking Ramonti on early in the straight. Good ride that man.
September 29, 2007 at 16:24 #117135And a shocker from Spencer (again).
September 29, 2007 at 16:28 #117138Great ride from Dettori.
September 29, 2007 at 16:50 #117144I really fancied Ramonti today. I envisaged the race panning out just as it did Wonderful ride from Frankie who judged to pace and course perfectly
Now for the clever part
Placed bet on Betfair….and the other half bugs me about something or other…
and i didnt confirm
September 29, 2007 at 18:56 #117154Ramonti is the true Mile Champion now after his 3 G1 victories, maybe the best miler in the world. And he has a big big heart!
September 29, 2007 at 20:19 #117165Nice touch that they opted not to pace-make with Blue Ksar, presumably as a deliberate (revenge) tactic. Mick Kinane looked somewhat confused and in the circumstances, DoM did pretty well to keep on and finish so close…
September 29, 2007 at 22:53 #117186Seemed to me Kinane was always going to be prominent. Almost pulled it off too, wasn’t beaten that far. The way Duke of Marmalade tends to get outpaced but gallop on makes me wonder how he’d do on dirt.
September 30, 2007 at 07:39 #117202I was glad to see Ramonti win; he’s been the best miler in Europe this year.
Steve
September 30, 2007 at 07:43 #117203the going was soft and that was my only reason for deserting ramonti (had a couple of nice wins so it owes me nothing) but i have it as a horse to be on if the going is good (7 wins from 7).you live and learn, chipmunk
