I Backed Quarenta and was shocked when they called The Blue Bomber the winner then i find out the have changed the result days later WTF? its getting a bloody joke with these stewards its hard enough finding a winner these days but you fighting against these clowns aswell Arhhh
December 18, 2015 at 15:47 #1226269Absolutely nothing to do with the stewards. The judge misinterpreted the print and gave out the wrong result. Connections of Quarenta raised the issue with the Senior Judge at the BHA and after checking they confirmed the result should be reversed.
The stewards at the track have no authority over the judge, who is a direct employee of the BHA.
December 18, 2015 at 16:30 #1226274An absolute disgrace that the BHA have allowed such an obvious mistake to carry on for several days without correction. No doubt without Quarenta’s connections intervention this gross error would have been neatly swept under the carpet. What a farce with millions of pounds at stake on every race.
And why was Felix Wheeler doing judging today at Ascot? Is he a fit person? Surely he should be subject to immediate disciplinary action.
Watching pictures of the race it didn’t look that dark so why was the print so poor? What is the reason they don’t have some sort of lighting such as infra red lighting on the winning post?
Isn’t about time Jamie Stier resigned, how many cock ups is he going to be responsible for before he’s fired?
Many questions but few answers as usual from the BHA.
December 18, 2015 at 16:45 #1226279Well judge then is there any way to start a petition? to get him out of his job. Clearly his not fit for it
December 18, 2015 at 16:55 #1226280He made a mistake having to look a very dark print. Having seen both the first print and the second lighter print it still didn’t look particularly clear. Life goes on, deal with it!
It would be a great help if there was some lighting at the finish to aid the photo when it gets gloomy.

An admirable attitude if there was no money involved but totally unacceptable with millions of pounds at stake. What about the integrity of the sport? Judge not sure so he just has a guess and hopes for the best – How pathetic and condoned by the BHA in their lack of action to correct the error. Doubt they would have changed the result on a whim.
December 18, 2015 at 21:45 #1226329If your money was down Rob you wouldn’t be saying that! he called it about 5 seconds after the race surely to goodness if he couldn’t see it properly you would take your time to get it right. i’m not a sore loser at all!!! but for something like this ‘Unavoidable’ Episode to happen it just makes me a bit upset!
December 19, 2015 at 08:56 #1226376Are any of the bookies paying out on the “real winner”?
