Got to hand it to AP bounces straight back.
Interesting ex Irish runner at Epsom tomorrow – Yellowstone.
Can’t see anything beating Denman so hopefully you guys in Ireland will back against him.
April 20, 2010 at 19:52 #291374He doesn’t like AP does he? Second time. I was on him for the Desert Orchid Chase when he wouldn’t start for AP – not this time thankfully. In fact I’d not back him ever again. However I think the Tingle Creek & Victor Chandler performances were as good as any other 2 mile form this season.

Agreed.
What I thought was excellent was Kempes winning despite wanting to jump out to the left all the time (from what I could see on my TV, like). Might be worth bearing that in mind!

So don't run, just like the others always do
April 20, 2010 at 21:08 #291397I’m a bit concerned about Denman going right-handed; was stuffed the only time he raced at Kempton which doesn’t augur well for tomorrow. Plus the ground is probably on the quick side for him. That said, I can only see Cooldine and Joncol matching him, both probably need soft ground to be at their best and Denman thrashed Cooldine in the GC. Probably a no bet race for me, or might have a speculative punt on Planet Of Sound seeing as the Hobbs yard are on fire.
April 20, 2010 at 22:26 #291418Sizing Europe – over the top or as good as he is? Raced freely, jumped sketchily and waved a white flag when challenged – and that was on a course he likes with Twist Magic out the way. Seemed almost as if Scots Irish softened him up. Very disappointing performance.
Even that run, when clearly feeling the effects of his Cheltenham performance, is way better than anything Tataniano has achieved, just in case that was what you were trying to cover up
April 20, 2010 at 23:15 #291423Denman should really destroy them today…
…but then I thought Imperial Commander would piss-up at Aintree and I’m still trying to figure out why that did not happen.
Wonder what price the tank will be?

Tranquil Sea
disappointed in the RyanAir, and the RP analyst seems to believe it was down to the faster ground, but the horse travelled and jumped like a dream till the top of the hill, and appeared to be done for toe from then on in.
Given he’d won 3 of his previous races on good ground and his trainer seeming to think he prefers it, tomorrow’s extra distance might be right up his street.
Has Denman to beat, who is no lock anyway, and diffficult to see him out of the first 3, so well worth an e.w. punt at the general 12/1.BB
Behave yourself – SE only scraped home against a 3 miler.April 20, 2010 at 23:33 #291428Isn’t Tranquil Sea a talented handicapper?
And yeah SE slapped a peak Osana….oh wait, that was a proper race not a weak as p.iss one
April 20, 2010 at 23:38 #291430Tranquil Sea bombed at Cheltenham before and came back to win at Punchestown.
In ’08 he ran poorly in the Supreme Novices when quietly fancied but he came home and walloped Fiveforthree and Trafford Lad on quick ground in the 2m4 Grade 1 novice hurdle. Obviously tomorrow is a stiff task for him but he should enjoy the ground and is unexposed at the trip. I think 12s is a decent e/w shout.

Bad start for me with a very dull run from Sizing Europe he looked like a AOB pacemaker in slow motion…probably had enough for one season.
I thought I was seeing things when Zarito’s jockey made no attempt to put him into the race. I read he was found to be clinically unsound after the race??? Obviously something amiss yet his jockey allowed him to finish…….probably didn’t fancy the walk back…..BIG BIG minus points for Condon who I like as a jockey but if horse is wrong you pull him up.
Hopefully Denman willl do the business today.
April 21, 2010 at 07:53 #291448If the price was a bit better I’d be tempted to have an ew on J’y Vole; improving all the time and better going right handed, although 3m might be too far. Could be an interesting runner with the ground being a bit fast for some of them.
April 21, 2010 at 11:36 #291489Quevega declared for the stayers hurdle tomorrow. Opens up a lot of options to her if she gets the trip. She only gets 5lbs over here instead of the 7lbs allowance she’d get in England.

I can see anything to trouble her if she stays the 3 miles, Jessies Dream may be the best EW option
April 21, 2010 at 11:44 #291492I think 4/1 is a cracking e/w price CS. She could be the only horse in training that could challenge Big Bucks over three miles.
April 21, 2010 at 11:47 #291493Only four appeal today, I’ve gone for a single on Arabella Boy and ew yankee on the four below, none of the four look bankers so no major bets today but perhaps a single bet or two on some of these depending how the yankee goes.
Arabella Boy
Denman
Old MacDonald
Tyrone Golden RainAfter watching a re-run of Sizing Europe’s run yesterday makes me think that he’ll be upped in distance next year, I’d suspected for a little while that he’s more likely to make up into a Gold Cup horse that a 2 miler.

4-1 sounds very generous, I would have put her in my Festival yankee had I known she was going for the 3 miler, I couldn’t see why she was entered in the Champion Hurdle, I felt there would be one ot two too quick for her in there but who knows what Willie Mullins is going to do.
I backed her in the 2009 Mares Hurdle but went for Voler La Vedette this year but I have to admit the best horse won at Cheltenham.April 21, 2010 at 12:09 #291500Good supporting card again today, I think Son Amix will uphold the form of the Fred Winter (Check out Kudu Country at Perth!), I really like Ad Idem in the 455. In the bumper I do like the form of Caught by Witness for Milton Harris.
