How Testing is Testing exactly (Punchestown)? I never find so called testing conditions in April to be as bad as Testing in the heart of winter although it can get sticky as ground dries out.

Im also wondering how this ground is compared to say Cheltenham or the King George. Can we really expect it to be as tough as the latter! Maybe somebody from around that area could enlighten me.

Would expect it to be very holding. It has been very wet, but there should have been a lot of drying out today, which should continue tomorrow. There is drizzle forecast for Wednesday, which could actually lead to less testing conditions.

I remember walking the track the year Notre Pere won the Punchestown Gold Cup and while you’d think the ground wouldn’t be as bad as in the depths of winter this was proper heavy stuff.

There’s been great drying today though and if tomorrow is a similar day I don’t think the word ‘heavy’ will be in the going description, may be tacky though.

Barry Geraghty reported that after the 4th last the going was very heavy in the chases

    Ah come on EGS

First it was My Tent Or Yours who would jizz up in a Champion Hurdle, then it was Our Conor; now Jezki!

You seem sure that all three will win!

I’d say the ground has become very testing now, was bad yesterday and has been raining all night.

Another couple of cracking races tomorrow, with the Champion Hurdle being supported by a showdown between Mullins’ pair Un Atout and Pont Alexandre as well as a chance for redemption for Oscar Delta who takes on Salsify again.
