Rosenpur wins at Chester thus recovering and a fair bit more the £140 fine for ‘mistaken declaration’ at the same day’s York meeting. I’m sure the fact that Rosenpur was drawn 2 at Chester had absolutely nothing to do with the distraction that caused the York ‘error’.
July 26, 2025 at 17:54 #1736864And as usual some of those drawn high in sprints have various ailments and dont run.
Best just limit 5f races to 8 runners.July 30, 2025 at 16:04 #1737231Just do the draw an hour before the race. Shouldn’t affect the turnover much, punters will still bet on it early. Job done
July 30, 2025 at 16:08 #1737232That is so simple and so BRILLIANT…amazing idea..
August 3, 2025 at 18:43 #1737639Thanks Landafar, but it’s too sensible, they’d never go for it
August 29, 2025 at 17:18 #1739062Guess tomorrows non runners..
Ill go with Marty Hopkirk and Candy in the 5:00.August 30, 2025 at 13:31 #1739141Got those right, probably my only correct selections today.
August 30, 2025 at 14:31 #1739155Marty Hopkirk’s hopes (deceased)
August 31, 2025 at 11:41 #1739211Nicely called Landafar, now if only you could get a market for these
September 15, 2025 at 12:53 #1740055Smart thinking, Landafar. Over subscribed handicaps could be split into two divisions, x2 the dead-eight.
September 15, 2025 at 16:21 #1740059Donald McCain when interviewed prior to Paws For Thought finishing 3rd on Saturday stated that he was probably running the horse over a distance too far (so it proved) but he had a good draw and they had withdrawn him the day before from a race over his ideal distance but he had a poor draw. The reason given for the withdrawal was
“unsuitable ground” yet the ground was the same both days with a going stick reading of 6.9.Why do the BHA allow this sort of thing? The horse shouldn’t have been allowed to run, they shouldn’t be allowed to declare for two races at Chester and just pick the one with the best draw.
September 15, 2025 at 18:32 #1740066Paws For Thought is entered Saturday at Chester with Charlie Maggs jocked up claiming 5lbs..Hmm
September 18, 2025 at 15:39 #1740227Paws drawn 5 for Saturday, should run I suspect.
In the 4:15 Id say the horse drawn 9 will not run.
Interesting there is no cutaway for this meeting.September 20, 2025 at 09:19 #1740331Spot on Landafar, hope it’s not your only winner of the day!
September 21, 2025 at 09:59 #1740460Honesty from Craig Benton who withdrew Twitch at Wolverhampton with stated reason ‘a bad draw’. Gist of his explanation was that Twitch had no early speed to overcome the draw so there was no point travelling 130 miles from Epsom when they had no chance!
September 21, 2025 at 16:24 #1740468May 7, 2026 at 12:52 #1766200The first race at Chester today is a 5 furlong sprint handicap. 13 runners declared. And the horse drawn in stall 13 is a non runner.
Strike me down with a feather!
