It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 18, 2023 at 12:27 #1659994AOB was interviewed on RTV yesterday and said that, although fit enough to do himself justice, River Tiber is unlikely to be 100% ready for this.
Surprised Chezza isn’t banging the Ramatuelle drum…
August 18, 2023 at 13:20 #1659996Yes river tiber was supposed to run at the curragh last week but missed a few days work so him and unquestionable swapped targets
Vandeek interests me
Looks highly progressive
Will wait to see prices, hopefully the presence of river tiber means he’s a good price

Chezza, like “Mr Baggins,” is full of surprises.
This is going to be a cracking contest.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 19, 2023 at 19:46 #1660177Tis a good race and I don’t bet on French racing but I would take a punt on Vandeek.
The more I know the less I understand.
August 20, 2023 at 10:16 #1660214Wading in here in size ten boots.
Ballydoyle distress flares already being sent out. It seems he (the river)has missed ten days preparation. He doesn’t withdraw them does he? Fair play to the man if his horses are not at their best he tells us. If I was going to lay one in this race it would have to be river Tiber.
France haven’t won this race in a long time and I think today could well be the day they put that right.Ramatuelle has made steady and deliberate progress since debut in April when winning a maiden. Raced at monthly intervals and beaten only by a colt on second outing. All wins have been by wide margins and have taken in group 3 and 2 in successive races.
Hard to beat in my opinion.
Valiant force and Elite Status the best of the rest.August 20, 2023 at 12:18 #1660221If it was over 5f id be backing valiant force, he’s still too big at 28/1 though, theres enough opposition here to be laying the french fav anyway at the price imo, far too short on what shes done, not to mention id say she wont like the ground being this soft, not sure i entirely buy into the river tiber talk, id say hes still the most likely winner and wouldnt be running/travelling if he wasnt at the fitness level of winning, too valuable. Over 3/1 now aswell, at what price does the best horse in the race become a bet?…
Throw in the likes of elite status, vandeek & jasour etc it really is a great race, although afterwards id say theyll be a bit of, i cant believe he went off at that price
August 20, 2023 at 12:26 #1660223Ham, they ran LittleBigBear in the July cup after a bruised foot a few days prior and look how that worked out.
Don’t know who truly calls the shots at Ballydoyle but their placement and over running of horses is bemusing at times.
I backed River Tiber, tried to cash out after reading the news but no cash out offered from WH the feckers.
August 20, 2023 at 12:54 #1660226Id be more of the opinion that LBB’s decline was hidden behind a supposed injury to try to protect stud value, the same way as today if river tiber bombs out i dont believe it will be because of an injury, more that he just wasnt good enough, there highly examined before the race, they wont be allowed to run with a real injury, niggles yes, but they all have niggles
Just my opinion of course, hes out to 4/1 on the machine now and win or lose i cant let that go
August 20, 2023 at 14:26 #1660239Vandeek and jassour for me
Both seem to be rapidly improving
August 20, 2023 at 14:39 #1660242Aidan O’Brien had the best horses at hq in may and stated there were big issues then. Remind me what happened there.
Name me a french horse that doesn’t act on soft??? This season’s crop please.
Has good, good to soft and soft in her cv already. The main big issue is the step up to group 1. But has won group three and two last twice.August 20, 2023 at 14:47 #1660243The fav might be a tough nut to crack on the slow ground.
August 20, 2023 at 15:27 #1660249Should. be a thriller, I’ll go with the fast improving Vandeek.
