They could still clash in the Japan Cup at the end of next month – massive bonus on offer if he goes and wins that (believe it was around £3m last year), which was why Alpinista was due to go there last year before her injury.
October 1, 2023 at 15:24 #1665195The big burly security guard clearing imaginary dangers from the path of the winning jockey and horse.
Trouble is those dangers were mostly press and connections. The danger was he (the security) was going to trample them under foot.We haven’t quite seen greatness there.
But we have seen sporting Sam tip two of the first four home.October 1, 2023 at 15:28 #1665197WD Mike putting Ace Impact up June 4th.
The more I know the less I understand.
October 1, 2023 at 15:30 #1665198On a literal line through Westover (who’s trainer was saying the next stop could be BC Turf) it suggests that Ace Impact has something to find on Equinox if they do happen to meet.

October 2, 2023 at 14:55 #1665336What acceleration Ace Impact showed.
Love a middle distance horse that can quicken like that. Reminded me of an old time favourite of mine: Busted, who appears back on the dam side of his pedigree
October 2, 2023 at 15:06 #1665342A great result for Frankel as well in addition to Kelina in La Foret
October 2, 2023 at 16:33 #1665354Frankel was already comfortably clear at the top of the sires lists for both GB/Ireland (£6.4m in total earnings) and in Europe (£9.9m total winnings – helped by the nearly £1.7m he earned from Westover and Onesto placed efforts and Kelina winning the Foret). It was quite an acheivement for him to be responsible for the 1st three home in the Arc with his son Cracksman being the sire of the winner Ace Impact.
Again really do feel for Westover who in any normal year could have easily gone through the season unbeaten in all the big all aged middle distance races (the Sheema Classic, Coronation Cup, Grand Prix de Saint Clould, King George and Arc) but instead had to settle for one win and four 2nd places. Connections must in equal measures feel immensely proud and but immensely frustrated.
Edit: Sounds like he is going to be kept in training again next season – hopefully it works out better than it did for Adayar & Hurricane lane
