Raining heavily now
October 5, 2025 at 15:10 #1741276I’ve got my outsider on already, although I could definitely done
without the rain. No horse has ever won this race at 6 years, I know
that is against the stats, and Oisin Murphy has deserted him for a pile
of money to ride the Japanese big hope, Byzantine Dream. However, Andre
Atzeni thinks enough of him to travel half way across the globe. He’s
certainly no plodder, he won the Group 1 Hong Kong Vase, worth over
1 &1/3 million, in December. He was 3rd in the Coronation Cup at Epsom
in June and last time out he beat the odds on Kalpana, (going away at
the end) in a fast time last month at Kempton, and that one is trading
at 12/1 in this. He’s drawn nicely in stall 5 the trainer says he had really fancied his
horse but fears the rain may have scuppered his chance. Well fair and well,
but he did run 2nd on soft ground to a decent one of Haggis’s at Haydock
over 1m 6f, where he led 2 out and was only caught in the last 100 yards.
So there is no worry about not getting the distance. So it’s a chance, if he manages it that deep over at Longchamp then he’s
not without a chance. He’s worth an E/W I reckon.Giavelloto 40/1 E/W Bet 364 4 places.

October 5, 2025 at 15:14 #1741278Two very good horses to come clear of the rest – he tracked her all the way and just chinned her.
October 5, 2025 at 15:15 #1741279Well done to the G1 winning machine and what a great run from Giavelotto. Minnie Hauk lost nothing in defeat as the pair were well clear….
October 5, 2025 at 15:17 #1741281Well done Darren, what a great long range punt, well done worzel and VF too. Great finish.

The winner was tipped by quite a few of the RP and Sporting Life tipsters over the last week or so.
October 5, 2025 at 15:21 #1741284She probably needed something to take her a bit further up the straight as when she kicked off the turn she put a couple of lengths into the winner but she also gave him a target to chase.
Ironic that they ended up in the middle of the course on the ground they used yesterday rather than the fresh ground on the inside.
Hopefully, they keep Minnie Hauk in training next year as I think she would have learned a lot from today’s race – fair play to Giavellotto (40-1) in finishing 4th on ground that wouldn’t have suited him.
October 5, 2025 at 15:24 #1741285A great way to honour the late Aga Khan who passed earlier in the year.
October 5, 2025 at 15:25 #1741286Well done Darren 33/1 fantastic.
Viking and Worzel also on the winner.
and Graham for a great place bet.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 5, 2025 at 15:26 #1741287That’s a great ante post shout, darren83. Well done! 👏
October 5, 2025 at 15:30 #1741288Very well done Darren with 33/1.
…And BigG and co for 40/1 each way the fourth.
My three main bets were nowhere. I chose the wrong ones to make the main bets.
Three of my four savers were 1st, 2nd and 3rd.Should’ve done the forecast. LOL
Value Is EverythingOctober 5, 2025 at 15:56 #1741293That was some bet Darren getting the 33s, superb

Viking and Worzel a terrific winner for you guys

I’m so pleased Giavellotto got his place, thanks for the replies
October 5, 2025 at 16:09 #1741299Its a shame they run such a big race at the French equivalent of Chester. Double digit draws need not apply
October 5, 2025 at 16:18 #1741304Unless you are Golden Horn of course.
October 5, 2025 at 16:22 #1741307Some ride that from Dettori to be fair wasn’t it, he knew his draw was a big problem. Probably didn’t make any odds today to be fair best two came well clear. The German massive outsider Torquator Tasso? something like that won in the swamp that year from double digits too I think. Its not as bad as the Abbaye which really is like running a Group 1 sprint at Chester.
