It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 29, 2022 at 12:54 #1616265Torquator tasso set an even tougher task than last year getting drawn in the car park
The other fancied horses have better draws
Can see vadeni, mishriff and maybe a couple of others being NRs if the deluge arrives
Luxembourg in 1 which could lead to big issues if he is held up or breaks slow
September 29, 2022 at 13:51 #1616269“Luxembourg in 1 which could lead to big issues if he is held up or breaks slow”.
Luxembourg is in stall 8. Happy with that, and Al Hakeem in 4, and Vadeni in 2 if he runs.
September 29, 2022 at 14:12 #1616271Oh yes I miss read
Luxembourg, alpinista and westover are perfectly drawn

Adding insult to injury for those balloted out.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 29, 2022 at 16:40 #1616285I’d love to see them run vadeni in the breeders cup turf
Think it’d suit him perfectly
September 29, 2022 at 17:33 #1616290Surely wont be pulling vadeni after his jockey club win in june… when it comes down to it, hes not much to find on ratings here, where as assuming baeeds on point, hes a stone to find… with the possibility of the same ground…
Ill be surprised if they pull anything for ground, mishriffs last race ?
Still a chance the track will swerve some/dry out a tad, can someone confirm, i cant remember, but longchamp will save some ground for the arc also?
Im not as concerned about the ground clearly
September 29, 2022 at 17:49 #1616293Ground already very soft with more rain due (6-10mm) Friday night & Saturday, no way it dries out and once racing starts any rain on ground opened up will make it even more testing.
Last year’s winner and Mishriff have the nightmare draw, but Alpinista, Westover and Luxembourg drawn next to each other in 6, 7 & 8.

20 Luxembourg (8) Ryan MooreSeptember 29, 2022 at 20:07 #1616322I hope it doesnt go heavy as it makes the race a lottery. I too doubt mishriff or vadeni will run if its heavy. Surely the lads will have migivings on luxembourg running. They could or should be rerouted to the breeders cup. Cant believe they watered.
September 29, 2022 at 20:19 #1616325Producing “Very Soft” ground after the summer we’ve had across Europe is quite a feat.
They must have poured the entire contents of the River Seine on it.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 29, 2022 at 22:07 #1616337Auteuil which isn’t far from Longchamp is also known for very soft conditions, maybe they are very slow draining courses which could mean that the water table remains high and was less affected by the hot summer conditions.
Have to say given the weather at the time (and the forecasted rain due) the watering part was nonsensical in the extreme as it was not as if the ground was much better than good to soft in the places they watered, maybe they are the French version of Haydock.
September 30, 2022 at 00:14 #1616345It is very slow draining LD
September 30, 2022 at 00:21 #1616346There was a meeting at auteuil today and I saw a bit of one of the races whilst flicking channels
Looked like it was raining heavily so if that’s hit longchamp too the horses better get there scuba gear ready
September 30, 2022 at 05:24 #1616350I’m away to Pitlochry for the weekend but I’ll find an excuse to get in the lodge to watch this
Luxembourg to win
Deep Bond e.w …..he,s a punt espafter last year but he had
CD formPick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
September 30, 2022 at 08:27 #1616355That Verry Elleegant did not make this field due inferior rating assigned to her by France Galop totally defies logic. Her credentials tower above most of these runners; she’s a nine-time G1 winner and 2021 Melbourne Cup winner. The next closest runner with most G1’s is Alpinista with five. In fact, five runners (25%) have zero G1 wins! But, according to France Galop the mare is not good enough to make this field.
On the contrary, from an international perspective, France Galop should have been thrilled to have her and giving Australians and New Zealanders something to cheer about.
Here are the runners and the number of G1 wins, listed in order from most to least:
Alpinista – 5
Torquater Tasso – 3
Do Deuce – 2
Luxembourg – 2
Mishriff – 2
Sealiway – 2
Titleholder – 2
Vadeni – 2
Alenquer – 1
Broome – 1
Grand Glory – 1
Mare Australis – 1
Mendocino – 1
Onesto – 1
Westover – 1
Al Hakeem – 0
Bubble Gift – 0
Deep Bond – 0
Mostahdaf – 0 (only a G3 winner)
Stay Foolish – 0– the twenty runners have a total of 27 G1 wins among them;
– eight of twenty have have 20;
– twelve of twenty only have a total of 7, two less than Verry Elleegant’s 9;One can spin France Galop’s reasoning any which way, but the mare is good enough to be in this race!
I don’t care how good a swimmer is Torguator Tasso, he’s not winning from draw 18; only one horse ever won from this number and it was Alleged in 1977. TT is no Alleged…
As to Alpinista, unfortunately, history is against her. No mare since 1937 (Corrida) has won this at the age of 4+. Even Treve and Eneble couldn’t do it…
Luxembourg needs quicker ground…
So, not much else in quality left to choose from but I’ll go with Mendocino (Adlerflug) who beat TT last time out in GP van Baden (G1). Last year TT used this race as springboard to win the Arc…
Good Luck all,
September 30, 2022 at 08:32 #1616356It’s too simplistic to look at Group 1 wins – some are very weak.
She’d had two runs since coming and over won precisely neither of them.
Neither were Group 1s either.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 30, 2022 at 08:50 #1616357Turk, unless im forgetting something, enable won it twice? So unless she won it at 2, she must have won it at 4…
