Between The Aga Khan 3yr old and Fame and Glory you got your winner
Which Aga 3yr old Wal??
August 8, 2010 at 09:30 #311667for me sarafina is the winner. if a non runner, i would have to go with F&G. wonder which one of stoutes will moore ride?
This would be a worry: (Also the distance?…said to be faster than ‘Zarkava’!)

(from the post)
Could also tell us all we need to know…
Your second question has been answered.
Not sure they want to go right handed again with WF – considering the ‘Champs’ comments about him…
August 9, 2010 at 17:42 #311892I cannot understand all the fuss about a summer break to win the Arc. Both Dylan Thomas and Sea the Stars races all summer and still won the Arc.If the horse is good enough he can win the Arc without all the fuss about getting ready for the Arc.
August 9, 2010 at 22:53 #311927risk of injury i guess.
August 9, 2010 at 23:14 #311932I think 95% of racing fans would admit that Sea The Stars was a total freak and that Dylan Thomas had more courage than Giant’s Causeway. It’s incredibly difficult to do. And Sea The Stars did have a break to some extent. Eclipse to Juddmonte, decent 6-week break there.
I’ll be stunned if Behkabad doesn’t win this. I’ll be equally stunned if Fame And Glory is placed.
August 9, 2010 at 23:46 #311936why will you be stunned if F&G is placed?
August 10, 2010 at 09:08 #311975It’s too hard to call a winner so I’ve had a little each way on Simon De Montfort
BigP – It’s a bit of a worry no? – that a colt who wants good has missed the whole of the summer season to date?!
Do Godolphin know their form lines that’s the question?!
August 10, 2010 at 09:30 #311982Bit of a sweeping statement big man.
He was a huge disaapointment behind another Godolphin horse Passion For Gold in his only Group 1 effort to date but he was given a more than tender ride when his chance had gone. He looked as green as a Scottish fir that day and was running all over everything in the early stages.
Certainly seems to be improving though and won with a lot up his sleeve last time out.
I’m keeping my beady eye on him as I think he could be end up being Godolphin’s main
Being green wasn’t the excuse or reason for that defeat though was it?!
Two words "Leger" & "Potential" that shouldn’t ought to go together re: his prospects considering he might have finished ahead of the current Arc second fav had he taken up his engagement in the Jockey Club.

Nick Mordin :
"Pain Perdu’s run suggests that Simon De Montfort would have at least placed had his connections not been cuckered into withdrawing him by the misleading official going report."It seems as if Godolphin have become obsessed with winning the Leger!!

And along the way have missed out on the Irish Derby and a place in the King George and maybe the winner of the Grand Prix De Paris?….
August 14, 2010 at 15:11 #312747why will you be stunned if F&G is placed?
Because he just takes far too long to find top gear. They’ll be long gone when he finally gets into gear. He’ll be outpaced 4 out.
August 14, 2010 at 15:26 #312752I’ll be stunned if Behkabad doesn’t win this. I’ll be equally stunned if Fame And Glory is placed.
I"ll be stunned if
Workforce
doesn"t win this,i"ll be even more stunned if
Fame and Glory
isn"t placed! Its all about opinions Zarkava, good luck with yours.
September 7, 2010 at 20:44 #316357Correct thread TAPK

Behkabad is a proper horse, and cast-iron compared to the shell of a beast that Workforce was lto, and probably still is. The Derby was his day, but as so often, the Arc is best forgotten

I rate
Planteur
a bigger threat to my
Workforce
than
Bekhabad
!
September 7, 2010 at 21:04 #316361Behkabad laughed at Planteur, quickened away from him, and when Planteur challenged Behkabad quickened again, sending planteur all over the track in surprise. Was actually eased before the line too

I Know! It will be a different story in the Arc Bucksy!
September 7, 2010 at 21:12 #316365Struggling to see how or why it should/will be..
but ya never know. Does look like a match between the French 3yo’s, however.

2 very good, but typical French types who will love 11/2m in testing conditions, any horse with a bit of toe will quicken away from them!
September 7, 2010 at 21:22 #316368I think they’re the quickest in the field, personally. They have that ability to quicken away that Fame And Glory, for example, doesn’t. Extremely talented and having had traditional French preps even more can be expected.
Fwiw, connections of Behka are keen to get him on a sound/quick surface, feeling he will be even better on it. Arc’s are rarely run on soft either, so it’s all shaping up well
