Nobody seems to have noticed this .
Nobody but you andy! May well be a valid point, particularly in the light of Sir Michael now suggesting he overtrained Workforce between the Derby and King George! It never ceases to amaze me how much rubbish trainers can get away with waffling after the event, just to suit their needs! His article in yesterdays Racing Post about why he kept punters out of the picture takes the biscuit as the horses price contracts almost daily! "Money talks money talks, dirty cash…."
October 5, 2010 at 23:19 #321104To blow my own horn, I’ve also mentioned that on the general Horse Racing board.
And his win on Super Saver was reckless too. He had the race wrapped up well before the wire but was still lashing the horse as if he was in a competitive finish. Why he chose to, in between smacks down the back, give Super Saver a hard crack down the shoulder I will never know.
I also always found it strange that Ryan Moore fully extended Workforce in the Derby. I mean, you’ll get the rating but if its been a tough race…
Even the Australians, with their extravagant windmill whip action have the sense to give their mounts an easy time if the race is wrapped up.It seems to have perhaps really hurt Super Saver (who it has to be said didn’t look anything special, only clearing out by 2L on his ground with the run of the race). In the end all Moore did was give Workforce a real race, but if its been a tough race then why take the risk?
February 14, 2011 at 12:45 #340632Hello.
When was the Arc opened up for geldings ?
I notice in the results at Racing Post that Duncan is a gelding.
February 14, 2011 at 22:01 #340694"Pour chevaux entiers et juments de 3 ans et au-dessus."
Duncan was not a gelding while he was running in the Arc.
This is a technical problem of the RP-data base. They don’t carry the sex of the horse in the race-results but in the horse-main data which have no history. So if a horse is gelded after some races he will appear as gelding in all the races he ran before being gelded.
