Any strong fancies?
I’ve backed Sariska AP @ 16s
May 17, 2010 at 15:57 #296071Remain convinced that Fame And Glory can go close here.
May 17, 2010 at 17:54 #296081Bet 2 horses here i have
ST Nicholas Abbey
Daryakana at 25/1 to win
May 17, 2010 at 19:07 #296090Is Youmzain trying again this year?
May 17, 2010 at 19:26 #296093Has anyone been to the arc b4? can you recomend a good company to book with?
May 18, 2010 at 22:12 #296195Surely Daryakana is over the odds???
May 18, 2010 at 23:37 #296200Try the winner of the prix de niel usually a good pointer for the Arc. Rail link won both.
May 20, 2010 at 01:20 #296279There was a lot to like of Rewilding’s royal spanking in the Cocked Hat. The way he travelled smoothly to the leaders off a moderate pace and vapourised them was most impressive.
A sublime breed with a leaning towards 12 furlong boasting a vicious turn-of-foot like that is uber-exciting, and cannot be ignored @ 33/1 (Hills).

The winner of the Arc won’t be Dancing Brave but it will be Dar Re Mi if it runs.
May 21, 2010 at 15:18 #296398Jan Vermeer for me is the ideal Arc Horse.
Big rippling robust Horse…physically will scare some of the oppostion.
Looks like another son of Montjeu in Hurricane Run who is just going to explode sooner or later. I can imagine him in Training next year and just toying with opposition starting in the Tatts Gold Cup. Defo won’t be retired this year. Fingers Crossed

Not really. Far too early in the season to even make a rough guess
May 21, 2010 at 23:41 #296442Far too early in the season to even make a rough guess
I think it is definitely too early in the season to guess at the 3yos (too much unknown with Rewilding, SNA, Air Trooper, Jan Vermeer, Behkabad, etc etc etc) but I think it is not entirely unreasonable to start speculating about the older horses. Fairly clear that trainers of Daryakana, Dar Re Mi, FAG, Youmzain will try to get them to the Arc if they can.
Odds on Youmzain’s fourth 2nd place?
May 29, 2010 at 11:02 #297427I went last year and saw Sea The Stars win.
I can’t get excited about it after that!
May 29, 2010 at 11:46 #297456Jan Vermeer looks great Arc specimen, looks like trip would be to suit too. I’ll be getting on before the Derby, if he wins that, will get slashed to 3s

Should me and you start are official
"JAN VERMEER FOR ARC THREAD"
Hehe
May 31, 2010 at 21:43 #297882I am keeping faith with Sariska and am on her at 16/1.
I agree that she is a very good filly on good or better ground but she is outstanding on soft ground. Her win in the Irish oaks last year was the easiest group 1 win I have seen since Montjeu in the King George.
Obviously there is a long way to go and luck will be required in terms of staying healthy and hoping for some rain in October, but apparently she has strengthened and improved as a 4 yr old and unless a superstar emerges from the 3 yr old ranks, I would fancy her and Fame and Glory to have it between them if it came up soft or good to soft.
She is running in the coronation cup and I won’t be heartbroken if she doesn’t win as the likely going will be fast, I just hope she runs well and steams on towards paris!
June 4, 2010 at 15:38 #298596Great run by Sariska, still fancy her for the Arc, when the ground will be more to suit. Fame and Glory has no turn of foot, is just a grafter. Lets have some soft ground in 4 months time.
Edit, no idea why I wrote the Oaks
