Kasbah Bliss just won the Prix du Cadran in sizzling fashion under an incredible Gerald Mosse ride. Suggesting the ground is pretty quick…
And confirmed absolutely by Sole Power’s desperately unlucky 2nd in the Abbaye.

Yup, no question now, the times are screaming fast ground
Snow Fairy will get her groundOctober 2, 2011 at 14:21 #372735you have to laugth, the one nobody fancied or new nothing about
October 2, 2011 at 14:23 #372736What a win.
So You Think ridden out the back and came screaming up the straight for 4th. Looked to outsprint or match the likes of Sarafina. Snow Fairy with a Youmzain-like run, held up just a touch in the straight before producing a solid turn of foot. Workforce got a troubled run.
October 2, 2011 at 14:24 #372737Hmmm, strange race…..Treasure Beach was wasted as a pacemaker, and So You Think was given far too much to do….
but the winner has won well…
October 2, 2011 at 14:26 #372738If reports are correct Danedream will be supplemented. You can pick holes in many of these and having shown a real change of pace on different surfaces she appeals as the best outsider.
Well done to you – the horse won well and no other horse can have any excuses – as it was a non-typical Arc race with v little, if any, bumping and barging.
A well deserved victory IMO.

I didn’t see where they finished but Workforce and Galikova both got bad checks in the run. Winner way too good of course.
What a run by So You Think, matched engines with Sarafina all the way up the straight… Snow Fairy justifying my high opinion of her.
Winner apparently broke Peintre Celebre’s race record time.

Thanks
Obviously, I was watching her closely and if she quickened up she had the race won. Very impressive winner.
I have been lucky enough to back the winner of the Grand National and the Arc this year and although they say ‘a winner is a winner’ the big ones do mean something more.

Since
Danedream
smashed
Dandino
up in the Hoppegarten Group 1, I’ve hoped that she might turn out to be as good as she looked today.
She’s beaten the best in the world, by a street, and not a shadow of a fluke about it. A great day for German racing – well done!
Workforce
cut to bits at the start and not given a hard race in the straight.
St Nicholas Abbey
ran out of his skin, and given a good ride by O’Brien.
Sarafina
run off her feet and (like
So You Think
) unable to utilise her turn of foot thanks to the strong pacesetting of
Treasure Beach
. Questions might be asked about the O’Brien tactics…
Snow Fairy
looks set fair for another good autumn in the Far East.

My impression was that the plan was to take So You Think and Sarafina back from their horror draws to avoid racing wide. Thus a strong pace was needed for them from where they were likely to be.
October 2, 2011 at 14:44 #372744Very well done Stilvi and Martin, great pick.
Ground is very fast / firm out there, an obvious excuses for many. And although it was a fast run race it proved impossible to come from the back. Not that the jockeys should have known that before the race. Pacemaker held on for second. So You Think, Sarafina and Workforce’s runs can be forgotten. Latter badly interfered with early on too. So You Think did well to get fourth from there.
On first look very few runners ran to form. Difficult to know how to rate the form, possibly around Snow Fairy? But even then, I have doubts whether she ran to her best today. However, Danedream won so easy she must be a top class filly.
Great for Germany’s bloodstock and racing industry, they need a pick-me-up.
Treasure Beach what you could describe as a "non-trier" on the day. Those who backed it (not I) should ask for their money back.
Value Is EverythingOctober 2, 2011 at 14:45 #372745You’re on the wrong fillies lads –
Danedream has already won 2 Open age Group 1’s and was unlucky in running behind Testosterone at Saint-Cloud – would happily take those two against Galikova.Martin
Well done!
Hope you whacked it?!!
October 2, 2011 at 14:49 #372746WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I’ve been championing Danedream since she won the Italian Oaks. Peter (trainer) told me she was something special, but he does sometimes talk up his horses too much. OK, German group races can be weak, but sometimes we can produce superstars. Borgia, Tiger Hill, Shirocco….and now Danedream!! A great day for German racing!!! Also congratulations to Bruemmerhof Stud, especially Gregor Baum, the breeders of Danedream (he bred Amicelli, you know!). German bred horse, German trainer, German jockey – 2011 Arc winner – MADE IN GERMANY!!

I think more than a few horses ran to their best, but circumstances didn’t allow that to be reflected in where they finished.
This is something I encounter a lot in Hong Kong where most races are slowly run. Requires race reading and taking into account who was unlucky, how they finished, etc.Danedream looks spectacular, she actually stretched away from the others including Sarafina and So You Think who were running on from near last. Must be the best middle-distance horse in the world off that.
October 2, 2011 at 16:55 #372756Of course if one waits until the Friday before the race there won’t be many good jockeys still available.Right? How does Joseph get into the mix? Ballydoyle is quietly becoming a Mickey Mouse operation.Without Jamie and Cape Blanco where would the Grouop One’s come from? Ireland don’t count.
October 2, 2011 at 16:55 #372757Great race and a good winner – though I must echo the sentiment that it was sad to see Treasure Beach (essentially the Epsom Derby representative in Pour Moi’s absence) reduced to the pacemaking role…
October 2, 2011 at 17:22 #372759Really devaluing the Derby and the horse after a good Group One win in the US.Seems like they at Coolmore don’t mind.Must have some big plans for the Arc horses from here on.
