Hello Kers….. have you been and gone and changed the rules then, I noticed Trotter say summat about no x in Postdata. When you were doing it a few moons ago, that was the method you used (no x’s) and it was very successful, why did you change it mate ????…..

I’m slightly concerned why individuals choose not to post system rules its pointless .Why the secrecy?I really don’t think that there will be anything that is mind bogglingly productive that will bring all the internet horse racing fraternity clambering to the board.<br>It seems pointless just putting up selections without any published systematic reasoning.<br>Surely the aim of this forum is to share and see if we can collectively improve the ideas posted.

Come on fellow posters lets see those ideas.<br>Does it really matter if you post the rules?I’m sure that most ideas are based around similar criteria. It’s the one that is successfully slightly different that I’m looking for.

    Good Luck-kersly <br>

Hi Kers, I don’t see anything wrong with a temporary secrecy, providing it is only temporary. People who experiment with systems usually dont publish ’em until they’re pretty sure that they won’t look total prats. So instead of doing them and keeping it to themselves, they put ’em on here for a bit of encouragement. Like my bloody donkeys at the moment, they’re crap, and I aint gonna stick my head up for all to have a good p**s
take, but if the system proves to be profitable over a couple of months I would be willing to put the rules up no matter how stupid they sound because the results would have already been proofed to the board, its a bit of reverse psychology…… I personally, will stick my selections on the board for all to see, until such time as they prove to be profitable or they "bomb" out. If I lose 50pts, I will consider myself stuffed and there will be nothing lost, but if the reverse were to happen and I was to make a 50pt profit, then I would fall over myself to tell the members of the board what a clever little dickie I am by telling you all exactly how I pick ’em…… can’t see any harm in it mate and it saves the newbies getting embarrassed if their method turns out to be useless. The only thing thats certain is that a lot of people won’t bother at all if they think we’re all gonna have a laff at ’em when their "pet" system goes tits up. They need a month or two to build up bottle, I see no problem with that……<br>

    Hi Kersly

Its always the way you change a system and then a big priced winner comes along….

The best advice I can give is stick to a system once it has been shown to produce a profit. If you keep changing you never know how really successful you have been. I think you have done enough testing over the last 8 or so months to be able to do that now.

The reason I say this is the 5/4 system. Initially I followed blindly, but after 12 months analysis I found overall betting odds against is the best way to dothis, as I put on the thread months ago. This now seems to have been adopted by many that follow that system. There are probably ways to further improve this, but I can now feel reasonably confident how many points I will make a year.

Keep up the excellent work, I personally think you have developed a great system, which should be able to make us all a few quid. ;)

    Best of luck<br>

You are probably right Paul-just stick with it.<br>Still think this "System Forum" is just a few selections put up by individuals-no reasons given. What can you get your teeth into?.Nothing to discuss, nothing to spark you into action, surely there is a need to throw around a few ideas.<br>Does it matter if it goes wrong for the individual, its not a contest to find"super punter"<br>I applaud anyone who is prepared to share thoughts whatever the outcome.<br>I look in daily but it becomes boring if all you see is a list of selections without any reasons given. You never know some one may suggest a slight adjustment that would be beneficial.<br>I know I’m a moaning old sod,you will have to forgive these ramblings

    Anyway here is my list;)  of todays selections<br>Thursday 3rd July<br>Flat Turf Qualifiers<br>3.05 Yarm-Estimate(5)..f/c 4/1………….Lost<br>4.40 yarm-Floreeda(7)..f/c 9/4………….Won 6/4<br>7.55 Epsom-Swynford Welcome(5)..f/c 16/1…..Won 10/1

    Hi Everyone,

I agree with MrE in that a lot of forumites are probably scared of falling flat on their faces if the system goes "tits-up" after only a week or two. Unless you have years of accumulated knowledge you are limited to studying the usual racing press and learning by your mistakes.

Sometimes change is forced on you Paul, whether you like it or not, as is the case with my system. It has started a losing run after doing quite well for the first couple of months. My system is based on AM ratings and if he decides that putting up evening ratings is all getting a bit too much and withdraws them, then it is bound to have an effect on the results thereafter.

System building is a time consuming game and there aren’t that many produced that have been verified and have stood the test of time, kersly’s Pointer’s is one that has and it must take many hour’s of study, pain and heartbreak to arrive where he is now. I can only applaud your efforts Kersly and hope you continue to provide WINNERS.

On the subject of secrecy, I edited out my rules after they had been posted for a couple of months because I wanted to see what sort of a response I would get. At the time I was doing quite well, to my surprise there was only ONE person who messaged me for the rules. So that put it all into context for me…why bother!

I have a system at the moment that I have been following since the 14th June – but I would not unleash it on the forum until I’m good and ready. The signs are very positive though:

    OUT 32.00, IN 53.08, P/L +21.08, ROI 65.86%, S/R 50%

    Keep on striving

    Regards

    Bricoman

    kersly<br>Hello again,

    Just a little query

Why is High Action, 3.00 Brighton, down as an odds on selection, when it is bettered by Poppyline in Topspeed’s both “latestâ€ÂÂ

Hi David,<br>You are quite right Poppyline had a"latest" "best" rating that bettered High Action.High Action was top rated in all areas of Postmark for some reason I put all the ticks on High Action. It in fact was not a selection purely a mistake on my behalf.Apologies, thanks for bringing it to my attention.I was rushing to get out to cricket-sad isn’it?.
