Wow. We were at Leicester the other year when he won a novice race and it was obvious that NTD thought he’d got something a bit special. Then I listened to his race against Seeyouatmidnight on the radio and I thought the bubble had been burst.Well done those who, unlike me, kept the faith with him.

Bristol de Mai is a solid 6’s on the machine ‘Middle of March.Even if this ‘Alary’ is a class horse he still has to give 8lb to what is a proper class horse in our fellow and I doubt he can do it myself.

We knew he’d romp home didn’t we

You sneaky B*stard..If you’re who I think you are.Just another day in the Office eh pal?Lol

TAPK stayed firm in my own confidence..I have to say that result gave me a lot of pleasure as I was the only one locally to have backed him.Great result and another serious Gold Cup horse surfaces today.’Alary’ doesn’t arch his back and wont even get round Cheltenham so my ‘Cue card’ bets safe too. B-)

Great call, Gord. Performance left me stunned. Although his form figures are consistent, his performances aren’t: started fav (or co/jt) in ten of his 15 UK runs: won 4 of them, beaten twice at long odds on this season. Perhaps the trip had some effect but the difference in his run from the off today was stark – seemed a new horse.

Cheltenham likely to be on the fast side for him and doubtless the mad Twister will give him the toughest task in the Gold Cup rather than the easier one. Still he’s relatively young and the future will be very interesting.

The Peter Marsh used to be decent Gold Cup trial but it has long since declined into little more than a reasonable handicap. There is a huge difference between today’s romp and winning a race at the Festival on what is likely to be much quicker ground. They may as well aim high because he won’t come close to winning either a Ryanair or a Gold Cup.

I saw enough today to suggest the contrary Stilvi, that was a Gold cup performance,he’ll handle better ground and his style of running would help him definitely get the trip but if the ground was to become soft Bristol De Mai would be a major player. Not like me not to get 66/1 about him but I’ve taken 20/1 with Ladbrokes as he’s a single figure price on the day.

Good luck with Black Hercules Gord he’s another in my 10 to follow too.
So pleased to see Bristol De Mai win so easily. Mick Fitz was really talking our boy down before the race but after he couldn’t have enough of him, Luke Harvey went for Definitely Red and you were so so right about Alary, just shows what a bit of hype can do but kept our boy a good price without him he would have been much shorter.
