L Humphrhies 3/1
D Van der Bergh 80/1My bets
November 27, 2024 at 19:02 #1714187Daz… I’ve had the winner of this the past 5 years
albeit with two bullets in a few of those
I believe Luke Littler and Luke Humphries are in the same half?
Gary Anderson is in the other half.. I think??
kids do your homework…
Anderson lost in the final of the grand slam by the one leg to Littler and the thing with Gary is he is a confidence player and that was recent enough
The format suits
10/1 Anderson 1/2 odds 2 placesCharles Darwin to conquer the World
November 27, 2024 at 19:34 #1714191I expect Sky Sports is already working itself up into a frenzy over the prospect of Luke Littler playing Fallon Sherrock.
November 27, 2024 at 22:18 #1714208Good luck Nathan though got to correct you it was semi final Littler beat Anderson in Grand slam
Yes the Lukes in same half
November 27, 2024 at 22:46 #1714211Anderson has a bit of a strange draw. If it goes to seeding his tougher games are arguably first with Ross Smith and van Gerwen. He’ll fancy his chances against either and he can certainly beat any of his possible quarter final opponents.
His semi would be against the winner of the Michael Smith quarter which is wide open. Smith is second seed because his win two years ago still counts on the ranking but he’s dropped a bit since then.
Humphries’ win on Sunday should give him some confidence back and he’s still the best in the business for me.
Humphries to beat Anderson in the final, you heard it here first.
December 17, 2024 at 08:49 #1715586What an awful crowd last night, disgraceful treatment of Menzies. I understand them supporting Gates with him being the underdog and his antics before the game but Menzies was basically in tears at the end. There’s no need to jeer the other guy just because you’re supporting someone.
Nothing will change though, as with racing, the pissed/coked up knobheads bring the cash in.
December 18, 2024 at 06:29 #1715622I was travelling home and did not see any of the action but I notice that the “Queen of the Palace” lost in the first round for the fourth year in a row. At least the scoreline suggests it was a competitive match but Sky must be devastated at her missing out on a second round clash with Littler.
I realise Fallon was there on merit, having secured one of the two places for women. But isn’t it time for Sky and the PDC to admit these places are a gimmick? They have no chance of winning, or even progressing very far in the Championship. The other player lost in the first round as well.
Is it really any good for women’s darts when these players lose in the first round every year? Wouldn’t they be better off concentrating on the women’s events which they can actually win?
Beau Graves seems to have a more realistic attitude.
December 18, 2024 at 07:15 #1715623I watched the Meikle v Sherrock match and it was poor quality. She got off to a good start winning the first 3-0 against throw but Meikle then won the next two sets by the same score. She did hold throw to force the deciding set and missed bull for a 170 to take it to a deciding leg (no extended final set in round one) but Meikle always looked more comfortable after the first set and immediately took out 96 to win. Sherrock threw too many loose darts costing her chances at doubles and Meikle took full advantage.
They were playing for the prize money, neither would get anywhere near Littler playing like that, he’ll be odds on to win 3-0 I imagine.
I think I heard they are upping it to 128 players next year (more sessions = more £££) so I can’t imagine the women’s places are going anywhere. As you say clearly Greaves clearly feels that the £25k for winning the women’s Lakeside is easier than the two wins required for the same sum here and you have to feel she’s right, of the two players seeded here that she played at the Grand Slam she lost to both heavily. It would be great to see her give it a crack but I understand her choices.
December 19, 2024 at 08:49 #1715679Christian Kist has apparently been suffering the effects of arthritis, whatever treatment he’s had clearly works after his nine darter yesterday!
Aspinall didn’t look entirely comfortable last night and I think he’ll struggle against better opposition. I know he’s had injury/dartitis issues recently and he’s in a tough section.
December 19, 2024 at 09:11 #1715681Someone over on the Betfair Forum said it was 8/13 on the Exchange for a 9 dart finish during the Championship and said it was a great bet. He was right. I wish I had taken it myself now!
Given the overall standard nowadays and the length of the matches in the latter stages, it ought to be something like 1/3.
December 19, 2024 at 11:40 #1715686Ricky Evans is always a good watch
I think he has Chisnall next
that will be a belter, maybe not class wise but the spectacleCharles Darwin to conquer the World
December 19, 2024 at 13:08 #1715692Based on those odds, I’d have thought 2+ nine darters would have been odds against, you’d be more than happy now if you’d taken that.
Agree Chisnall v Evans should be great fun.
December 21, 2024 at 22:29 #1716037That was a slow start by Littler but talk about going through the gears. That fourth set was crazy.
He was an emotional wreck afterwards! Sometimes it is easy to forget that he is still very young.
December 21, 2024 at 23:25 #1716044A pedestrian first three sets by his standards then he goes out in 11, 10 and 11 for a set average of 141. He still managed a three figure average for the match. Absolutely unplayable at his best.
Heta also missed double 12 for a nine darter in the last match.
A word for Nick Kenny as well who retained his tour card by beating Barney. Barney may no longer be the player he was but it must still be an intimidating prospect playing him. He needed quite a few attempts to hit the match winning double which just goes to show how the pressure affects players.
December 23, 2024 at 08:45 #1716101Well done to anyone who managed to find a winning bet yesterday. Three seeds lost 3-0 in the evening and even Joe Cullen was a heavy second favourite despite being the seed.
The draw is falling quite nicely for van Gerwen now, he’s surely got a reasonable shot at the final now.
December 23, 2024 at 10:41 #1716107Anderson just couldn’t hit a double
interesting Championship so far.Charles Darwin to conquer the World
December 23, 2024 at 11:07 #1716113Anderson’s performance was rancid last night. Anyone who backed him is entitled to be furious.
At one point he left himself on double 3, blocked the bed with his next dart and then bust it in double 17. He then ran jauntily to the board to collect his darts. Did he even realise he was getting stuffed?
I had the same thoughts as Richard about Van Gerwen. I am tempted to back him now because he must fancy his chances of at least reaching the final.
Cullen’s post match antics have attracted a few headlines. I can understand him feeling a bit miffed at being made second favourite by the bookmakers but it rather grates when players demand to be “respected”. Just throw your darts and get on with it.
