Ancient wisdom miles the best in this, but his knee action screams top of the ground to me, can anyone near ascot confirm what the ground is like? It looked rotten on atr but the times arent as bad as it looked, before i bury a mad bet on him above 3s on the exchange

Aside if the ground is shocking, chaturanga @25s & al musmak at 10s will be where the pennies go if the grounds soft

Convinced he wont act on soft but would win this very easily on good +

Define “near” – I’m half an hour away.

I’d have thought the race times speak for themselves personally, with the concluding event the most relevant.

Close enough ian, whats it like/forecast to be like?, 3.84 slower than standard? The race before looked worse, but im not the sharpest aith reading the going off the race times, i never trust my reading of it on differing courses lol

There’s a very slight chance of a bit of drizzle overnight, but I’d say it’s odds-on no more rain now.

3.84s slow for 5f is 0.708s per furlong and, even though this was an OR 83 3yo, it’s clear there’s give in the ground – I’d put it between Soft and Good to Soft on the straight course and my guess is it will dry out to no quicker than Good to Soft tomorrow.

The Round course is often even Softer and I’d say on times today (therefore tomorrow too) was and will be no exception.

Anything unproven with cut has questions to answer tomorrow IMO.

I like the form of Chaturanga’s Haydock win, with the 3rd and 4th placed horses (2nd and 3rd in the betting that day) winning next time out. He is worth an EW interest at 20/1.

But, I think the Shadwell horse Alyanaabi could be a very smart future prospect. A best-priced 4/1 he looks okay to me.

Ground looks good enough to me for ancient wisdom, hopefully avoid anymore showers, piling on at 3.4s ish

Will save on the other two i mentioned to cover the bet

I thought Ancient Wisdom had a bit of knee action and Appleby reckons a little ease in no bad thing for him. He’s my nap of the day.
