    Market up for this………

    https://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/ante-post-racing/national-hunt/paddy-power-gold-cup/winner

Of those at the head of the market, Jagwar makes obvious appeal, while the pair that I like for Kempton, Jango Baie, and Caldwell Potter, could be interesting too

I’ve got another three though on the radar

Booster Bob won The Greatwood Gold Cup in bizarre style in March, and kept under wraps since. He’s off only 131, and I think he could be much better than that. He’d be my #1 right now, though he’s not quoted. I’d definitely have an Antepost if he got an entry

I was disappointed when Panic Attack missed Cheltenham, but if all well with her, I’d be interested, though the 16’s doesn’t appeal right now

A horse I’m looking forward to this year is Imperial Saint, and thought the 33’s fair enough, but I’m hoping to see him in The Old Roan Chase first of all, a race I think he’s perfect for

    No bet just now

    Edited after Five Day Decs

That 16’s long gone on Panic Attack, but although I’m still wary of her Antepost, have started chipping away at 8’s. In the highly unlikely event she was bigger if she was declared, I’d definitely top up

Looked through the rest, and decided to give Es Perfecto a try should he be declared. Ran well here in March, and although I’m confident he’ll trap here, still risky

They’re the only two I’m considering, so might as well go now

    Es Perfecto 20’s EW4Pls
    Panic Attack 8’s

Plans can change but I think I saw that the route for the Jukebox Man was taking in a race at Ascot and then the King George

Wouldn’t surprise me if this has been the plan since Cromwell’s horse crossed the line in second last March

    Il Ridoto 10/1 win only

I think this race is a PN target for the horse, so happy to have an early punt.

I’ve been really boring with this race, and bet Jagwar and Il Ridoto when the entries were revealed. I think that both should be able to be in the mix here

Just 16 left in (max field 20). That’s not news really these days but needs mention. If we can’t fill a competitive and well-rewarded handicap like this, what race will they fill outside of the Festival?

Protektorat was top weight but isn’t declared, so no.1 on the card is Matata.

The Jukebox Man another not to make it, which is a shame as I’m going both days this weekend and was really hoping to see him.

Cromwell declares The Other Mozzie and Thecompanysergeant.

Yes, i live 30 miles or so, south west of Cheltenham, and it’s been torrential here today.
There’s a few days worth of rain or heavy frequent showers forecast, so i’d imagine (despite Chelt’s rep as drying quickly) there’ll be some ‘soft’ in the going, come Friday.

Given the copious amounts of water put on for the inferior showcase meeting,it wouldn’t take much rain to turn it very soft

Given the weather, forecast and the likelihood of a lot more defectors, Jagwar is looking a tasty price now at 9/2.

He’s going to go off no more than 3’s surely.

5mm of rain yesterday( so the rain we had must have missed to a degree and we are about 5 miles away) according to course but he quickens the going up to good G/S in places.
No real rain as such today
