Very sad to hear. However Hexham is by far the safest NH track in the country. They have had about THREE fatalities in the last 7 years or so. Therefore they were almost due to have one. It sounds stupid I know, but it is still good to know that it is a very safe place especially for horses with less experience.
Rest in peace Oscar Tanner.
Just to say I was at Hexham and the jockey Henry Brooke was very patient answering questions about Oscar Tanner as was clerk of the course James Armstrong.
Sadly, most of the crowd didn’t even seem to even notice he’d broken down.
