Grand National hero One For Arthur has sadly passed away in retirement this morning rip

What a gentleman of a horse he was. So sad to hear that he was taken at such a young age. RIP lovely boy ⚘
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...Injury ruled him out the year after his victory in Grand National, but did return in 2019 and finished 6th. Year after that the National was cancelled due to covid and he was retired after that.

Don't mess with mister in between.He was my selection after I’d watched him win the Classic Chase at Warwick (my local track) and run on well in the Becher Chase. However he was never mentioned in commentary until two fences from home (even Founavon got a name check :unsur

What a shame he didn’t have a longer retirement, which he was clearly enjoying, but succumbed to the dreadful colic. ‘One for Arthur’ apparently means ‘Onefor the road,’ referring to the empty glasses of Arthur Guinness on the table.
