Had a punt here on Midnight Lion. Had been running ok here in a busy winter, but looks to have been given a proper break. Was a promising youngster, but lost his way for a bit, before Jim Goldie appeared to get his spark back. Unfortunately, he looks to have his work cut out to scrape in, but you never know

Stablemates Faylaq and Humble Spark also of interest, but they hold other entries, and equally interesting are potential Irish Raiders, Sonnyboyliston, and Tribal Star

I thought Dancing In Paris rode a really good race last time
out at Goodwood. He didn’t get the run he wanted, but still
finished better than anything else. He went up 2 lbs for that
run which is fair and would certainly get him in if Williams
    wants him to run.

    Dancing In Paris 40/1 E/W 4 places

Phew  For a minute I thought my 50 quid was down the drain,
I couldn’t find Dancing In Paris anywhere near the 40/1 mark and was a
bit astounded it is down to best priced 16/1. It’s obviously not my bet
so hopefully the stable or someone in the know has a fair fancy for it.

    BigG

Tipped up by Matt Brocklebank, Sporting Life, early this afters.
    Prob explains the price collapse.

Thanks Wilts, I hope he’s got it right

Good luck with Zanndabad, down as low as 10/1 in
a place. I’d settle for us both getting a place
along with Bobbies massive 66/1 shot :good:

later note – Did I actually say “Bobbies” I can’t
    believe that…..apologies Bobby.

Wilts, just read Matt Brocklebank’s summing up of the Northumberland
Plate, I can imagine quite a few jumping on at big odds. He makes a
good case for Dancing in Paris. Thankfully I did my sums the day before
    him :mail:

    Final decs tomorrow.
    Best of luck to all.

EDIT: BigG – Jack Haynes, Racing Post, also tipped Dancing In Paris today.

Prydwin is a non runner, which makes Dancing In Paris the 20th
entry. Now this doesn’t mean he’s going to run, but at least he
has the chance if he wants to, and let’s face it, Ian Williams
doesn’t want to bump into me at Newcastle if he doesn’t. Pneumonia
    or not.

Followed BigG with Dancing in Paris after I read the posting and watched his last race, ran well. Only a small ew but got 36.75 (with Hills boost) and see it’s only 12s today.

Tribal Star 20-1 ew 6 places. His run on the track in the 90k all weather championship reads alright and he got hampered as well apparently so thought I’d have a pop at one of the bigger priced ones.

Please can someone explain what the “inappropriate content” is in my post at 12.47 today?

I’m guessing it’s the suspicion of aftertiming, sc, since the price you claimed had long gone.
If you don’t post your bet details immediately you’ll always run this danger. In similar situations I usually say something like ‘ I followed in on your excellent bet and got a decent price’. There are (often rightly) some battle hardened cynics out there!
(Actually, I *did* follow in on BigG’s excellent advice and got a decent price!)

Thanks Oscar, I’ll bear that in mind in future. If I knew how to screenshot I’d have done that :-)

With Midnight Lion balloted out, I’ve went with stablemate Faylaq. I don’t think he’s quite up to this, and is fairly exposed, but conversely, I think he’s too big at 28’s, having missed the 33’s

Torn between two Irish raiders as backup. Tribal Star made the early shortlist, and Zanndabad’s a notebook horse I’ve bet a few times. Preference for Tribal Star just now, but I’ll leave that decision just now

I’ve never fathomed Ian Williams, but Dancing In Paris 12/1 e/w 1/5 5pl has been progressive since stepped up in trip and looks primed for this.

Asgard’s Captain 22/1 e/w 1/5 5pl steps up significantly in trip. Maybe many will ignore him because of this but while we don’t know if he’ll stay we can’t say he won’t, he’s well weighted on balance of form and has a decent 8 from 31 overall record with a steadily progressive pattern.
