Fergal O’Brien has posted on X that this 6 year old mare has sadly had to be put to sleep after fracturing a hip in the paddock. Full statement:
‘Sad news to bring you about No Risk Today who has been put to sleep
A couple of weeks ago she came in from daytime turnout out very lame and was discovered to have a fractured hip.
We commenced box rest and supportive treatment immediately but her clinical condition deteriorated over the ensuing days and she was PTS on veterinary advice.
She had been turned out pretty much every day (with the same companion) for the past three months.
Devastated for her, her owner and the team at home.’
