Pitt the foetus was the youngest on record – or am I confusing real life with Blackadder?

    Again.

“But does she “look” older than you, CAS?”

No she does not, alas. I am not going to libel her!

A young woman at work did once say I looked amazing for my age – but she was comparing me with someone who was born just a few days before me to whom the years have not been particularly kind. It was not much of a compliment really.

I’d take that CAS without questioning it!

The Tory Party delivers 3 women prime ministers, whilst the opposition party that supposedly stands for more equality and diversity has delivered a big fat zero. Oops, am i allowed to use the “fat” word these days?

Don’t worry, I’m sure the number zero won’t get offended at being called fat.

Couldn’t care less if the PM is male, female, black, white or anything else. We could do with a competent one. Enough with the identity politics 😉

This chap Bill keeps appearing on the news and current affairs programme – an annoying rather boring chap, and I’ve no idea who he is ?

Truss to accompany King Charles throughout the week on his visit around the UK nations. Clever move.

What honeymoom period, the no sitting of Parliament until after the Queen’s funeral.

Or as with Maggie a unelectable opposition leader ( Foot/Kinnock ) or a megalomaniac union leader ( Scargill ) , Truss has had a helping hand start ….let’s see if she gets a mild winter

If I was advising Truss, I would recommend hiring a voice coach.

Her voice does not inspire confidence and her delivery is wooden and does not make you want to listen. Her stilted speech in the Commons on Friday sounded like it had been written by a committee, which it probably was. Even Theresa May managed to sound more authentic.

Maybe I am being unfair because Truss could not have expected her tenure as Prime Minister to begin in such extraordinary circumstances. But she has not impressed as having any sort of gravitas.

It does seem a little ironic that one of the contenders she defeated, Penny Mordaunt, had a starring role at the Accession Council and performed it to acclaim.

I don’t understand why everyone was raving about Mordaunt’s performance yesterday.

All she did was read from a script and look sombre; it was hardly Oscar-winning stuff.

I think you are right Glad but she still seemed a more authoritative presence than Truss, who looks like an over-promoted schoolgirl.
