I would be very surprised if the rest of the World gives a flying fart about who our PM is!
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysAugust 2, 2022 at 13:46 #1609841With news of the race tightening we can no doubt look forward to the Daily Mail’s attack dogs being unleashed on Sunak.
August 2, 2022 at 13:55 #1609844Truss U-turn on a “local pay” policy that was never going to work.
Value Is EverythingAugust 2, 2022 at 14:05 #1609845Truss’s first real gaffe this leadership campaign – the main shock is there haven’t been more.
Unleash The Daily Mail Dogs Of War!
They’ll get The Truss Bus back on course!

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 2, 2022 at 20:52 #1609880In a remarkable 24 hours of trading Truss’s price has now collapsed again to the shortest she’s been so far.
1.09 Liz Truss
11.5 Rishi SunakGiven the latest poll showed a narrower Truss lead of just 5%, with many still undecided, and given Truss’s u-turn on regional public sector pay is seen as the first real gaffe of the campaign, it’s hard to see why this is as the endorsement from third-placed Mordaunt preceded all this.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 2, 2022 at 21:45 #1609887Who was it that commissioned the new poll?
According to The Guardian it was “conducted by Techne for a private client”.
If a Sunak supporter then it is possible the poll was not entirely unbiased.Recent poll by The Times newspaper suggests Truss still has a very big lead.
But then again, is The Times biased towards Truss?Value Is EverythingAugust 2, 2022 at 23:20 #1609897The Times leads on a YouGov poll which gives Truss a gigantic 34pts lead with 60%, Sunak on 26% and the other 14% either undecided or planning not to vote.
This explains the sudden price collapse of Truss.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 3, 2022 at 09:03 #1609905The collapse in Truss’s price after yesterday’s volatilty might be due to the security concerns; which, according to Sky News late last night, have led the orgainsers to abandon the rather strange idea of permitting a second online vote if members wanted to change their mind
So, it’s back to the tried and tested ‘one man one vote’ and most of those, it seems more than likely, will be cast soon after receipt of the ballot package; and therefore it is not really a price collapse but a correction
August 3, 2022 at 11:24 #1609919Whether it was needed or not, it was always “one man one vote”.
A voter could change their mind before their ONE vote was counted. Canceling the postal vote with a later on line vote. Just as people can think they’re going to vote for one candidate A FEW DAYS BEFORE an election and change their mind on the walk down to the polling station on the day. However, if there is a danger of on line voting being hacked then they must act.
Value Is EverythingAugust 3, 2022 at 19:05 #16099461.09 Truss, 11.5 Sunak.
I think that’s the shortest Truss has been.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 3, 2022 at 23:23 #1609955I think it’s all getting a bit surreal now. Sunak wants to herd people like me up if we moan about the state of the country.
August 4, 2022 at 06:32 #1609960It’s bonkers, Moehat. Made me think of this:
August 4, 2022 at 06:35 #1609961A new survey of Conservative Party members by ConservativeHome released yesterday found Truss most likely to become the next prime minister – with 58% of those asked backing her.
Sunak was found to have the support of 26% – while 12% were undecided.

August 4, 2022 at 07:29 #1609963Usually listed in other polls as not intending to vote at all.

He’s getting really desperate now. It’s quite sad in a way.
I’d be asking him what happened to free speech, free expression, freedom of thought. I thought they were fundamental British rights. And people think we’re not not on a slide towards authoritarianism.
August 4, 2022 at 07:47 #1609965Sunak desperate and quite revealing about just how right-wing the membership he is belatedly begging to get behind him must be, given what he’s offering at the 11th hour.
No “extreme” right in the Tory Party?
Some of the membership aren’t far removed from UKIP and even worse, I reckon.
