NC is undoubtedly a top class horse and being a year younger than the big horse and Kauto it’s not beynod the realms of possibility that he could improve a little more next year. However as a french bred I think he is probably at his peak now.
I was really impressed again yesterday – His last three runs have been right out of the top drawer.
April 25, 2008 at 11:31 #159800I don’t think age will give Neptune Collonges any advantage over Kauto Star and Denman whatsoever, in terms of further improvement.
Kauto Star has run over fences 17 times, Neptune Collonges 15 times and Denman 9 times. If any of the three have scope to improve on previous form, it’s probably Denman and not Neptune Collonges.
April 25, 2008 at 11:38 #159801I don’t think the improvement will be experiential more physical if any.. However as I pointed out, with him being french bred it’s unlikely he will improve… I could see him getting Denman in trouble over 3miles round haydock though… Even if it is unlikely to happen.
April 25, 2008 at 13:27 #159812thanks to all those that have posted congratulations on here,if i could i would thank you all personally….if you introduce yourselves at the races i will..
Only time will tell if nipper will improve further next year, i of course hope he does… Statistics show he would have won 9 of the last 25 gold cups on his running this year, he just came up against a super star!!!!!!!
He has won more money than he cost and he’s given my family more pleasure than money can buy.. i hope he’s given those that love jump racing as much pleasure to watch as he’s given us…and he continues to next year….
By the way if any of you are intrested noland choked turning for home at Ayr and he will now have a wind op….
All have now finished except imsingintheblues who will have one run over fences before his holiday…
