Connections? I’m sorry for Granit Jack, desperately so in fact. However, none of my sympathy extends to a man such as Hales, referencing in particular his comments re Ruby’s ride on Azeryuiop in the Tingle, failing to lose graciously in a momnetous race. I wasn’t impressed by his public comments re Noland before Cheltenham either.
Neptune Collonges could have a very nice year next season I believe, if his targets aren’t based around avoiding Denman and therefore taking in unsuitable races.
April 23, 2008 at 17:18 #159459Beckie no one is critisizing you liking the horse or the horse but you have to face up to the facts. He is going to have a tough old time next season.
You should get over tha now or you are going to be a very disspointed lady next season. The worst thing that could have happened to the Horse was finishing alongside Kauto Star in the Gold Cup. I bet you PN is wishing Kauto hadn’t stopped when he did.
He is going to get hammered in handicaps, slaughtered in group 1’s if he rund against Denman or Kauto if both trurn out nest season at their best and the poor horse may take years to get back to a winning mark. He could well be trun out to get seconditis like ED has behind Kauto…not a bad thing I suppose but I would rather see him winning races.
I may be unfair asking you this as I don’t know how up to date you are with races available to horses like him……but If you were to set out a schedule where would you run him next season?
April 23, 2008 at 17:23 #159461So how would you have campaigned him this year FOF?
April 23, 2008 at 17:29 #159463You men, I don’t understand you at all; every race that a horse wins all you ever say is ‘what did he beat’ – well, basically this horse today slaughtered a top class field of mostly Irish horses running on their own territory, and this is after running his heart out in the Gold Cup and almost beating Kauto [greatest horse since Arkle] Star in the the process. and he’s still only a youngster…what more does he have to do; we don’t care what he’s up against next season; this is all about TODAY and give him the credit he deserves [albeit grudgingly]. Beckster, give Nipper a big hug from me when he gets back and tell him he’s a superstar; I stood in Corals today jumping every fence with him and cried when he won.
April 23, 2008 at 17:30 #159464ile leave it for boss reply to you fist as only thing i wannah say to you sounds like fork off ………………………… how old are you by the way and are you just a gambling man? or do you actually work, own or train horses? or do you just have your obsession with kato, by the way do you have a life aswell ??????????????????????//
April 23, 2008 at 18:04 #159475That’s the way to do it, Neptune!
No hype; no nonsense; just getting the job done without a lot of fuss.
Even Rupert couldn’t mess that up today, though I think I did spot at least one poor jump.Fortuneately, no excuses were required. Job done.
April 23, 2008 at 18:24 #159478I owned horses Beckie…. 3 of them, 2 very good ones one I bought as a foal and sold it as a yearling….My best friend was a NH jockey and then a trainer. He was killed in a car crash………other than that I don’t want to talk about it other than to say I was right in the heart of racing and knew everything that went on during a trainers day……my friend was always 100% open with me and it gaeve me a great insight to how racing works ….I…..a lot more than any stable lad or stable lass ever sees or is ever told.
Even if I hadn’t it doesn’t give you the right to be rude.
Does a fellow member need to have my experience/luck to get any repsect from you?
April 23, 2008 at 18:46 #159482I agree, Fists, but it was a point I made to you not so long ago when you thought you had the edge on the entire forum…
As for Neptune Collonges, I don’t think there’s any chance that he’ll meet either Kauto Star or Denman prior to the Gold Cup. It’ll be hard enough keeping the ‘big two’ apart though, without the added annoyance (if you can call having three top-class staying chasers annoying) of the loveable grey, but he’ll be no forlorn hope in any top grade handicap over 3m or more.

Not this man Moehat
Good post
Denman, Kauto Star, Master Minded, Neptune Collonges
Aren’t Nicholls and we who love the sport oh so privileged to have them around
NH racing is as healthy as it’s ever likely to get nowadays
Roll on 2008/9 – four days and counting

So who is this ex-jockey and trainer you keep harping on about – if he was such a special friend I thought you would be prouud to say who he was – after all you seem to boast about everything else you claim to have done.
a lot more than any stable lad or stable lass ever sees or is ever told.
Which, if you knew anything about horse racing and how a stable workks, is absolute rubbish – or maybe your "best friend" was not as honest and up front as he should be.
Again tell us who he is so we can form our own opinions – or is there something to hide?
Even if I hadn’t it doesn’t give you the right to be rude.
Thanks Fist for making my day – that is the richest comment I have seen in a long time – the words black, kettle and pot spring to mind.
I hate to shatter your illusions but you do not have exclusive rights to rudeness – if you can’t take it – then don’t give it old boy
Does a fellow member need to have my experience/luck to get any repsect from you?
We only have your word regarding your experience and luck and quite frankly I’m not inclined to believe any of it.
In my book respect has to be earned – I don’t deem a load of unsubstantiated boasts worthy of respect. There are many posters on this forum who know more about racing than you will ever know, There are people on this forum who probably win more than you will ever win. The big difference is they don’t go shooting their mouths off about it.
If you were any sort of a man you would apologise to Beckie for the comment you made about stable staff – that was the most offensive, patronising comment I have seen on this forum in a long time – hence my posting this now.

You’ve got to love this guy
April 23, 2008 at 20:25 #159494Agree with everything you say Paul and I had a spat with Fist the other day but if you don’t take everything Fist says too seriously I suppose some of his posts might be considered to be mildly amusing. It is difficult though to hold back sometimes when you read some of the things he writes!!!

April 23, 2008 at 21:16 #159520Hmm, getting a bit over senistive here folks.
Neptunes ran an excellent race. Fact.
But no more than he was expected to do if he turned up fit and well.
The field lacked depth and quality and next year NC will struggle, imo.
And if I am wrong (again) I’ll be the first to eat a healthy slice of humble pie and vanilla ice cream with a choc flake.
Surely assessing the performance of a horse revolves around the field he beat, the time, and the ground conditions?
I know you’re a lovable rogue, Fist

Zip
April 23, 2008 at 22:22 #159540well get zippy or im thinkkin close the zip………………..what horszes c onditions and ground were there in the chelt n irish gold cup???????????????????????/apart from a very [pro icing just turned 7yo chaser trained by the champiuon trainer???????????????????????????????????????//
April 23, 2008 at 22:29 #159543LOL Paul, I thought his best pal was jonjo but then saw the bit about the car crash and worked out it couldn’t have been him

April 23, 2008 at 22:30 #159544I hope you lot read thuis post in it’s orignal state……..if not I would be glad to send you an exact copy. Simply PM
I am glad you find my friends death amusing..BTW his name was PA Charlton. Tony to his friends.
I know LGR read it and would agree there was a bit too much personal info to be leaving on a forum as Tony’s wife is now marrried to my friend John Quinn who would not be pleased if his and Sue’s private life were left on here……………I have nothing toi hide so if any tou would be racing experts want to know please feel free to ask me in PM as I say.
April 23, 2008 at 22:31 #159545I understand that you love Neptune Collonges to bits, Beckster, as do I, but you can’t have a go at everyone who does give his efforts the credence they deserve (well, at least what someone believes they deserve). After days like today I’m sure you want to strangle the doubters, but just be glad that you’re involved with such a horse and that he’s putting his best foot forward every time he runs.
I think earlier sentiments hold true though – you’d be a nightmare girlfriend
