Usually have a decent Antepost on this by now, but change in conditions has prevented any real market being formed.
Cleatus Poolaw, and Stellar Story are two of the more obvious ones to me, but I’d expect them to be fairly short when the market forms.
I’ve two others in mind though, Jonnywho, and Sir Argus
Johnnywho runs today over a distance way short of this, but he’s a horse I really like, and think he’d have no issues with this trip. Should things go well today, I’ll have in mind for other targets anyway, should they decide not to step him up.
Sir Argus is a horse I was looking forward to seeing last season, but he had a setback, and missed it. He’s got a run under his belt though, and if he’s in the market when it firms, I’ll definitely bet him
Edit – Shanbally Kid another going over fences, who could be interesting

Johnnywho gets the entry, but it’s not surprisingly, not his only one.
I’d love to see him go Ultima, and Midnight Our Fred to Kim Muir, leaving Duffle Coat for this, but never that simple
Kyntara the dark one for me just now, just behind the main three
First time I’ve waited as long for an Antepost in this, and still no bet
Edit – Took the 33’s Duffle Coat

December 2, 2024 at 11:48 #1714580I like another tied in with the Johnnywho form and it’s Masaccio, particularly with Alleged on the dams side of the pedigree, which means this trip should be ideal
King won it with Midnight Prayer years back
February 19, 2025 at 00:08 #1720851I’d like to see the handicapper refuse a mark for Johnnywho in all the handicaps.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 19, 2025 at 13:58 #1720877Transmission is my early bet in this at 9-1 with non runner no bet.

Stuzzikini 25sAnd Transmission in a double with Beyond Your Dreams.
March 10, 2025 at 16:51 #1722409Duffle coat has been hid in closet all season , my bet is Klarc Kent each way , headgear on and that run in the Scottish National seems to show he’s a better horse on decent ground , he’s good a nice mark
March 10, 2025 at 17:50 #1722426Wonderful to see so many lineup and for it to be such an open race. Race was on deaths door this time last year. Now the conditions have changed is there scope to revert back to 4 miles?
I’m keen on Transmission.
March 10, 2025 at 17:57 #1722428Resplendent Grey at 15/2 win. Sean Bowen will give him plenty of assistance from the saddle.
In D’Or at 40/1 EW with DM riding pretty decent races recently.March 10, 2025 at 20:35 #1722459Willie Mullins talking about Captain Cody:
“He was going to be the mount of Jody Townend but the rules stipulate you must have ridden five winners over fences. Jody has ridden plenty in point-to-points but unfortunately doesn’t have five on the racetrack over fences so Danny Mullins takes the mount”
Considering the princeling amateur regularly gets the leg up on graded chasers (and drops them on the floor) one would think the trainer could have thrown a few chase crumbs Jody’s way over the past few years, perhaps during the summer. But no.
March 10, 2025 at 23:45 #1722487Was going to go betless for the first time ever on day one of the festival but one has caught my eye in the last.In D’or for the Williams/Maxwell combo.I know Dave gets some stick but he’s only fallen or unseated in a chase 5 times in the last 5 years and the ability so keep your arse in the saddle makes no little appeal in this sort of race. This lightly raced french bred looks as if he’s crying out for a trip and this hike in distance looks sure to suit.Venetia has a cracking record when putting her horses up in distance so lots to like.Slightly concerning is that he’s predominantly raced right handed but his ability to handle sharpish tracks will stand him in good stead on the old course. 55 win and 6 for the place ( first 5 ) on the exchanges seems fair enough so 20% win and 80% place will be the bet. Good luck with your wagering tomorrow.
March 11, 2025 at 00:53 #1722496I was thinking similar I thought he should have gone for the Kim muir as he’s an amateur.
Almost did me a massive boost on Saturday with Off the Jury getting mugged on the. Line.March 11, 2025 at 08:54 #1722520Transmission 5-1 ew 5 places
March 11, 2025 at 09:45 #1722540I think In d’Or would be a lot shorter with a pro jockey on board but this is what Maxwell buys his horses for and it’s not his first rodeo so I’m happy to take a chance (admittedly a small one) on him in this. I also like Gericault Roque if he is back to something near his best.
March 11, 2025 at 10:00 #1722544It’s two outsiders for me with Klarc Kent at 66-1, and Jupiter Allen at 40-1, and both of them are ew
March 11, 2025 at 11:53 #1722583Despite top weight, I cannot get away from Duffle Coat.
March 11, 2025 at 16:38 #1722757I’ve added Duffle Coat as well to Klarc Kent , Elliott has kept him hidden Inc last time when a def non trier at Ayr …
