Why do politicians think this sort of thing is a good idea?
May 28, 2022 at 11:51 #1599567There are politicians and there are politicians.
Nadine Dorries is about as good an advert for intellect in the Conservative Party as Dianne Abbot is for the same thing in Labour.
Plenty of equally-thick blokes in both parties too, btw – so I’m not being sexist.

https://www.facebook.com/ThePointtoPointNHandFlatracingpunter/May 28, 2022 at 12:17 #1599571I don’t regard Nadine Dorries as a politician. In fact I don’t know what she is. At least I don’t have ongoing arguments with her supporters on Facebook the way I do with Dianne Abbott I suppose.
May 28, 2022 at 12:46 #1599576Just in case any feminists out there have any lingering doubts, I consider Michael Fabricant even more stupid than either of the ladies in question and I’m sure there are male Labour MP fools out there too if you look hard enough.

You do not need to look that hard.
Before anyone criticises me, I am under no illusion about some of the intellects on the government benches either.
May 28, 2022 at 13:33 #1599589Unfortunately it appears very likely when the constituency boundaries are changed Mad Nad will be our MP.
You're old enough to kill but not for votin'
You don't believe in war, but what's that gun you're totin'?June 19, 2022 at 21:14 #1603340My constituency MP is Maria Miller.
To be fair to her, she once asked a question impeccably on my behalf in the House Of Commons, so I really shouldn’t criticise her.
But she’s a Tory, so that’s a big ask.
I wonder which way she voted in the Confidence motion on Johnson?

None of the others have got the attention span to play chess; for all her faults, good old Di can bang on for hours about the same thing.
June 20, 2022 at 19:58 #1603407Di’s illusion of choice for masquerading as an intellectual is to speak….VERY….slowly.
As long as it’s not speed chess, you could be right.
