just weeks until the flat i’m thinking of keeping my own 2yo ratings

    Does anyone keep them?

    Do you go by….

    How the horse is travelling?
The time of the full race?
Sectional (no clue where to get them from?) not sure how people even do them with the tv angles??
    Class of the race?
The Horse is staying on under pressure?
    Ground?
    Distance?
    Breed?
    Course? L/R
    Draw?
    Stats of the race?
    Trainer?
    Jockey?

Any advice is welcome cheers :good:

Its good fun constructing your own ratings but I found that as any season progressed, keeping tabs on all the 2Year olds was a mammoth task.
A suggestion: Use the Oficial Handicap ratings, which kicks in a few weeks after the start of the flat as a guide and modify those to suit your own findings. Remember the Official handicappers are pretty smart cookies and bettering their ratings will be challenging to say the least.

    Have fun

Yeah……. I often start the season thinking it would be a good idea to concentrate on 2yo but you get overwhelmed by the number of races and runners

I suppose you could limit it by sticking to sprints or by concentrating on Classes 1, 2 and 3 or on Nurseries

You could produce ratings for all 2 year old races over a certain distance.
