I am starting to catch your drift

    Formath

and now see where BAILY STORM comes into the equation, which at first had me mystified.

Selection has always been a major problem for myself and have had to rely on either KISS systems (Keep It Simple Sucker) or newspaper tipsters and so I am always eternally grateful to any kind sole who provides me with help in this department. Then I can go about adding or subtracting according to my own personal approach which I always have called "my comfort zone".

My comfort zone is stakes with which I am comfortable with i.e. small! And then not giving back ALL my winnings and going back to the 2003 posting by

    MrE

when he made a reference which about summed it up as "protecting his winnings", I sure prefer playing with their money rather than my own.

I will give RL7 (whatever it stands for) a go and see how it progresses and should you ever get to the back of the drawer I am sure we will all be pleased to read the full format. I am amazed you can remember which drawer after 40 years I would stand no chance after 40 days or hours maybe even after 40 mins. Don’t you just hate it when you walk into a room and you cannot remember why. I am okay with faces until I have to put a name to them, I hate getting old(er).

Perhaps I can add a system here for others to work on, I reffered to it a day or two ago saying I dug it up in the archive of this board. It may well have been the missing

    MrE

that posted it but there is some logic to it. It found me a couple of winners then some good places before falling away.

It is easy and it is simple but there may be a little extra required.

Handicap races only. Working from the bottom of the card, (the lightest weight) and select the first horse you come to which won last time out.

    That is it.

However I did read somewhere of late that only a few horses (low percentage something like 16%) follow up a handicap win with another win. There could rage an argument that the best horses are found at the top of the card but then again lightweights/improvers will be found at the bottom.

Not a day to get too excited about.

    The Rolling Multi

Gimcrack is going for SKEEMAH Exeter 5.10
    £2 win at 3/1 Bet365

Jeffrey Ross picks MEEZNAH 2.50 Yarmouth for the 2nd leg.
    £2 @ 2/1 Bet365

    The Rolling Doubles

With the Formcast Special selection today being a non runner I am able to go back to Plan A which yesterday was also a non runner, today and I hope from here on in will be taken from the Naps table in much about the same way as The Rolling Naps Multi.
Angle Finder picks BERMONDSEY GIRL 4.50 Yarmouth
    £1 @ 9/2 Totesport

    Nothing today for

    3 vs The Field

    or

    Formcast Doubles

I did headline today as nothing to get excited about and sadly I was correct!

    RL7

Am still waiting to find out what RL7 stands for

    Formath

However, I have looked at the racing for Wednesday and could it be that

    PALMITO 2.20 Worcester

is a possible. Without the RP betting forecast I have used Sporting Life where it is indicated as possible favourite. Also it is an early fav.on the exchanges.

FINNEY HILL Bath 4.00 also looks a maybe but the race is a maiden which may count it out, perhaps you can let us know.

    billion,
I believe RL was the formulator’s initials and it was system 7?

Finney Hill would not be a selection as it did not have winning form last time out

    RL7

    PALMITO is a non runner

    3 vs The Field

Once again there are no selections

    The Rolling Multi

    Gimcrack picks KHAYAR 4.30 Bath. £1 @ 3/1 Ladbrokes

    Rolling Multi (fom naps table)

Sticking with Jeffrey Ross who picks ORBITAL ORCHID 2.20 Worcester. £1 @ 7/1 Bet365

    Formcast 4f Doubles

    HALDIBARI 4.20 Worcester 9/1

    DUKES ART 8.50 Kempton 7/1
    small ew double with Bet365
(there are 3 others Knapp Bridge Boy 2.50 Worc. One Way 4.50 Worc. and True Red 5.50 Kempton, I may end up regretting ignoring them but I have choses to swerve all above 10/1)

    Rolling Doubles

todays pick is Postdata nap selection STORMING SIOUX Kempton 7.20. £1 @ 100/30 P Power.

This is the 3rd selection and so far without any joy and I hope the originator

    MrE

has done his figures right saying both wins and losses come in clusters.

    Hiya

    Boothylad

I have had what may prove two terrific days with the

    Formcast doubles

but I think much about every other betting day with this system has been poor. Although I am at present £54 up I only started with 20p ew doubles which has since been extended to 25p and now 30p. I have also removed the ew and betting only to win. I think it should only be a side issue to any main betting you undertake.

    My second venture into the

    Rolling Yankee

(2nd version) is proving a winner and is at present £28 up after only 7 bets. Again I may have been lucky with 16/1 winner last Saturday which has given the idea a massive boost and then today I took 7/1 early price which proved the right thing to do. I may have been a whole lot more to the good if I had played the rolling yankee as per the rules but the much earlier contribution in 2003 of this board by

    MrE

talks of protecting his profit which suits my style.

I must say this is all early days for me and when trying things out I prefer to play small stakes rather than doing a paper thing but this is only my preference.

I go back to the board archive which I like to read through because there is always something in these places which you can benefit from and again I refer to

    MrE

    and his

    Rolling Doubles

which I think is going to end up a big favourite of mine. I only started it this week and selection is going to play a massive part but with it stakes can be kept at a level you choose and like, I have started at £1 and no matter how long the expected losing run goes on for you can only lose £1 a day (or £2.3.4.5 etc) and when a winner comes along you only gamble your winnings whilst also continuing to play the daily £1 etc.

I will soon be revamping my whole scenario and am 100% sure I will drop the selection method of the first Rolling Multi (yankee) and favour the naps table version. I will keep the Formcast Doubles but because of the losing days keep stakes to a minimum. I will develop the Rolling Doubles selection method and for pure fun will keep the 3 vs The Field which is in profit, if only for a few pounds and again comes down to race selection.

I am also wanting to see how

    Formath

    ‘s RL7 progresses.

These are only my current thoughts of work in progress and within a week or two may change but all I can say is these thoughts are 100% honest and hope they are of some help to you. The ideas and suggestions are all there with nothing hidden and I hope whatever route you select you prove to be a winner and should you adapt any idea please post it so that we can all learn and benefit.

I did recieve a little bit of advice a year or two back on another now defunct forum and the chap said to me something along these lines, "Horseracing is a great hobby and most people who enjoy hobbies end up paying for them as we do with horse racing and although the aim is to win the best punters can be judged not by how much they say they win but by how little they lose"

A mixed bag plus an error for today.

    The Rolling Multi

Gimcrack’s selection today is TRANSFIXED 2.30 Brighton and have made this a 50p ew bet at 6/1 woth S James

    Naps table Rolling Multi

Jeffrey Ross has picked LA FORTUNATA 6.20 Kempton – £2 @ 11/4 Wm Hill

    Rolling Doubles

again taken from the naps table where Alan Keyte has 3 on the bounce. CHOISIR BREEZE 2.20 Ludlow £1 win @ 11/4 S James

    RL7

I hope this is correct THE GOOD GUY 3.25 Ludlow £1 @ 4/1 Ladbrokes, this will also be included as a Rolling Double sequence

    3 vs The Field

after placing the bet I realised an error by taking a price under 5/2

Brighton 3.05 ELUSIVE HAWK 5/1, LOCHAN MOR 7/1,

    WON

    Kempton 9.20

    WON

    , CLASSICALLY 6/1, RED SUEDE SHOES 8/1
9 small win doubles with Wm Hill

    Formcast Doubles

    no selections

A very frustrating day which through up 5 2nd places which must idicate the right things are being done.

    From the boards archive

    Darrell

posted a system August 2001 that claims a high strike rate which if I have read correctly goes like this: –

    Non Handicaps only.

Run through Sun’s betting forecast although any will do and select the horse closest to 2/1 (but not under such as 15/8)

    Distance "D" winner preferred

I do like simple ideas and this if has a high strike rate as suggested will do well as a Rolling Double.

FASLIGHT Kempton 5.50 looked ideal but is a non runner and so will go for WILLIAMS WISHES forecast dead on 2/1 in the 5.30 Ludlow
Best price available with Totesport 6/4 £1 staked

If anyone is still around who remembers this system and can add anything to my reading of it perhaps they will be kind enough to let us know all about it.

I cannot say I am happy with any of today’s selections.

    The Rolling Multi

    Last in the sequence: –

    Doncaster 4.40 TANFIDH £1 @ 15/8 SkyBet

    Rolling Multi (Naps table)

A new sequence starts today with Rockavon of the Sunday Mail: –

    Doncaster 3.30 RUSSIAN SPIRIT £4 @ 5/1 Ladbrokes

    Rolling Doubles

Rather than chopping and changing the tipster daily I will give the chosen one a run until a winner is found starting with POSTDATA: –

    Doncaster 1.15 FALAKEE £1 @ 13/2 Bet365

    3 Vs The Field: –

    Doncaster 4.05 PUY D’ARNAC 5/1, DEUAVILLE FLYER 9/2, MULBROOK 7/1

Doncaster 5.10 TIDDLIWINK 4/1, CAPTAIN DANCER 9/2, SPEEDY GURU 6/1

9 small win doubles with BoyleSports

    Formcast Doubles

What on earth is going on??? No selections again today

    Doncaster

, Newbury & Newmarket are all my most disliked tracks for finding winners but let’s hope today everything changes (I wish)

Lost, lost, lost, lost – I just knew it was going to be a bad day but will take it on the chin and hope for a better one tomorrow

It’s Sunday again with only 3 bets: –

    Rolling Multi

    3rd leg with ROCKAVON is Aintree 3.20 LESLINGTAYLOR £1 @ 9/2 Bet365

    Rolling Doubles

Following a winner with Postdata yesterday life becomes a little more complicated and have total returns of £5.50 + £1 stake to roll on to the double plus £1 to continue for the next leg of a new double (I think). However at a nice 8/1 on offer for CAUGHT RED HANDED 4.30 Aintree have staked ew. £3.25 ew the double and 50p ew the new single or 1st leg of next double. Complicated or what. So the bet becomes £3.75 ew Bet365 CAUGHT RED HANDED 4.30 Aintree . . . whew!

    Darren’s 2/1 Non Handicaps

Again following a winner yesterday which returned £2 winnings + £1 stake and will be rolled over for a double plus £1 stake for next leg.
    Towcester 1.25 SILVER BAY £3 + £1 @ 5/2 Bet365

    Billion,

If I may jump in here.

With the "rolling double" why not only place the "profit" from the first winner onto the second leg?

If the second leg loses you, have only lost the profit from the first winner and thereby protecting your bank even more.

    Regards – Matron

It is all very complicated stuff

    Matron

and I have read and read the archive postings on this board to make an effort to understand

    The Rolling Double(s)

    .

This is my understanding which I hope to simplify if possible.

To start with a bet is struck, if it loses then there is no problem, you have lost and wait until there is another selection.

So, a bet is made or struck, whatever, and in the recent case won at 2/1, should it have been coupled with a 2nd selection as per a normal double 3 points or pounds in this case would go forward to the 2nd selection and if it wins you collect, end of bet.

    However, with a

    Rolling Double

one must put the £3 to one side and wait for the next selection and win or lose the bet then ends. But if it in fact does win the bet should carry one extra pound (point) to be carried forward for another rolling double.

So following your first part of a winning double the next bet is struck in two parts the gain from the first bet and the stake for starting the 2nd leg.

This is because I am using the same selection source but I guess this need not be so. Thinking it through, which may simplify it as Day 1, strike a bet with the intention to roll both stake and profit to the next selection on Day 2, but also on Day 2 choose a different horse which would be staked at the same level as the bet struck on Day 1.

I hope this explains my interpretation of the archive reading which I think was from a

    MrE

but will be very interested to read other alternative suggestions in order to progress my understanding of how to select and run multiple bets.

Whilst banging the drum so to speak I would be very interested to hear from members who may have used

    Darrell’s

NON HANDICAP 2/1 system. Again reading the archive postings (and this one has many pages which I have not as yet completed) looks to have a high percentage strike rate and thus ideal for rolling doubles.

My interpretation is Non Handicap Races only. Run through the forecast prices and delete any under 2/1 and then go forward with the one horse price closest to 2/1 providing it was 1.2.3 LTO and if possible has recorded a same distance win "D".

I am starting with a requirement of wanting only one selection per day and therefore from any that may be available i consult "Odds Checker" to find the one horse closest to 2/1. All will be reveaaled in due course, so far so good, I have not paper tested and taking the archive postings as authentic, I am not one for paper testings I choose to do all my tests with small, very small stakes because as the advert says "It matters more when there is money on it".
