Great run by the old boy, was cheering him on all the way up the run in there.
Great to see him get his nose infront.
February 6, 2010 at 15:55 #274427Good to see him back and an exceptional ride from a very good young jockey
February 6, 2010 at 15:59 #274428Yep; another tear in the eye moment. What a great old horse. [another Our Vic moment also; 20/1 and we didn’t back him, and we’ve followed him for years].
February 6, 2010 at 16:13 #274431I was not happy as i backed Exmoor Ranger
February 6, 2010 at 16:29 #274437That poor scoop 6 punter…!!

Still nice to see such a great run from an old favourite!
February 6, 2010 at 16:41 #274439It was lovely seeing the old boy come home like that, runs like that make racing so special.
One of the joys of NH racing being the same old favourites coming back year after year and the oldies still able to show their younger rivals what to do.
Pure magic.

As much as i love Monkerhostin, that is not the way to lose the scoop 6, an absolute sickener for the unfotunate involved!
February 6, 2010 at 19:01 #274476I agree TAPK. Much as I love old warriers like The Monk, that’s no way to lose eighty grand plus. I felt real pain for the punter.
February 6, 2010 at 19:03 #274478A real fav of mine. Financially rewarding over the years, but also such a game and determined horse. Got a real reception in the paddock
How many 13 year olds have won races at that standard in recent times?
A fine training performance too. shouldnt forget that

Why?
He / she / they failed to find the winner of the race so they lost – simple as!!!

Paul, you ruthless B*****d! fair enough if Exmoor Ranger had been beaten into 3rd or 4th, but to go down fighting in a battle of heads is like someone putting 80k in your hand and snatching it back just as you are about to close your fingers around it!

It is not ruthless at all – horses get beaten by a nose most days and money is lost every time it happens. It doesn’t matter if the amount is 80p ot 80k – it is part of the game.
Anyway it is nothing like having the money snatched from his hand – he never had the money in the first place.
February 6, 2010 at 20:21 #2745065 years ago he’d have handed these guys their asses to them on a plate, he had to settle for a short head today. Well done old boy – and I was on Exmoor Ranger but after performances like this money goes out of the window, I was cheering him on.

Miserable F****r! The guys picked 16/1 4/1 7/1 10/1 10/1 winners and is waiting on an 8/1 shot who looked like winning, nothing like your everyday comparison!
February 6, 2010 at 20:25 #274511What if it was a syndicate who had permed almost every runner in every race? Has it been announced that it was a single line punter or something? There’s always next week!

One ticket, who was announced as a single individual! Poor person will be gutted!
February 6, 2010 at 20:33 #274516Oh dear, what was the place payout today? Not that it’ll be any consolation, he could buy himself a rope I suppose!
