2:50 Kelso – 16 runners but only a few have a realistic chance of winning. Nelson Du Ronceray probably prefers softer ground. Young Albert has a good chance but I like the chances of Smart Street who has won twice over C/D. Backed e/way at 5/1
4:50 Kelso – 18 runners but not as difficult as it looks. Bafana Boy has gone up 8lb for his last win but looks to be improving and has a decent chance against a some moderate rivals imo. Represents the top course trainer/jockey combination of Richards/Dobbin. Backed e/way at 6/1.
Not advising anyone to back a drifter or a top weight but St Mathew (7s)looks interesting in the Wetherby 3.40 Hcap Chase. Connections probably taking a chance with him on the ground and shorter trip but he ran well here on fast ground with decent opposition 18 months ago. I reckon he could cope with the pace and the opposition this afternoon. Collier claims 7lbs
