Superstar Hollie well done.
She has such a great attitude and really gets the best out of every horse she rides.
Wish her best of luck with her new retainer Imad Al Sagar and lots more winners to come.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 29, 2020 at 23:02 #1499275Doyle must already be the best female UK jockey of all time.
Changing the landscape.
August 30, 2020 at 08:37 #1499299I think she is definitely the best female jockey to have ridden in the UK under any code. She has raised the bar set by Hayley Turner.
One the one hand, I am a little disappointed there has not been more publicity about her achievement. On the other hand, maybe it is a good thing because now we just accept that women jockeys are equal and their success is not seen as unusual nowadays.
Although I look back to when I was first interested in racing. The idea of a girl riding five winners on a card, including two pattern races, would have been unimaginable!
August 30, 2020 at 17:25 #1499370Sunday: just TWO NOSES away from another five timer. 3 winners and two seconds. Well done to her….
August 30, 2020 at 17:53 #1499373Wow. 8 winners in a weekend. Brilliant stuff.
October 18, 2020 at 09:53 #1506604Congratulations to Hollie on an extraordinary week.
- Beat her own record for most winners in a year by a female jockey
- Became the first female jockey to win at the British Champions Day meeting
- Won her first Group 1 race
These records are tumbling thick and fast, well done Hollie and keep up the good work in 2021
October 18, 2020 at 23:18 #1506669Brilliant Super Saturday for Hollie and Tom .. racings golden couple
Hollie gives her all with every horse she rides and they respond well to her. Dedicated and determined to win she stole the show on Saturday no flying dismounts or kissing cameras for Hollie (thank goodness) she’s a true professional and now she has that first Group 1 we will see her get more top class horses to ride and wouldn’t be surprised to see her win the Championship next year.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 19, 2020 at 16:04 #1506708They’re both great, Jac. I think both of them should win a championship or two in the next years. Not a fan of the flying dismount and also not a fan of ignorant owners who part ways with a jockey being 2 for 2 on their horse shortly before the Derby. The same owner thought his horse would be an ideal Arc candidate at the age of 7 and who would also win a tough stayers race just 6 days after a very poor run. I hope Stradivarius doesn’t have to run next weekend as well.
October 19, 2020 at 17:00 #1506721Ive backed Hollie for Sports Personality of The Year at 66/1. I wanted to do top 3 but can only find outright markets sadly. Be surprised if she’s not in the top 3, what more can she do?
October 19, 2020 at 17:25 #1506724Agree, I think she is nailed on for Top 3. Nick Skelton finished third in 2016 and racing has a bigger fan base than show jumping.
October 19, 2020 at 18:06 #1506733I think you could be talking about the remaining two spots in the top three. A certain 7-times F1 Champion who also smashed Michael Schumachers record for total overall wins is almost a cert to be 1-2-3.
November 25, 2020 at 23:58 #1512163Congratulations to Hollie:
