Just woke up in my chair in time to put on Tim Easterby’s well bred colt. I thought
he was way too big when I was having a look through in bed this morning.7. Mysteryofthesands

He’s one to watch, he made up good ground and
Sullivan wasn’t over hard on him at the finish (3rd)April 3, 2024 at 16:26 #1688991Batal Dandy has been tried between 5 and 7f, but I think
6f should be about right. He’s not been on heavy before,
as his action suggests to me that he should manage it
well enough.Catterick 4.27 Butal Dandy 20/1 Paddy Power

April 3, 2024 at 17:16 #1688999That’s it from me, the 1st 2 kept me well ahead. Really disappointed with Batal Dandy
in the 4.27. He made a hash of the start and did well to finish 5th. If he can learn
to break well he should win one at this level.Hope you’re all keeping well, I know you will be busy Jac, I hope louise is
improving even though only slightlyApril 4, 2024 at 16:07 #1689042Thanks Graham I was really pleased to have won the Godolphin Compy and the Animals at Hillside will benefit again this year.. I did think you had a few swaps in hand and as Catherine said the Dubai World Cup Festival was very underwhelming this year.. Let’s hope they have a good crop of three year olds this year who will progress through the ranks and bring home some good Group races this year and next.
I hope you managed to make a profit over the last couple of days Graham, I only had one bet today that tailed in almost last but I’ve not really been concentrating.
Louise a little better today thank you.. JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 5, 2024 at 19:59 #1689099Dundalk 8pm

3/5 for Colin Keane and they reunite in a very good mark went close when allowing winner a soft lead last time Keane don’t be messing about here…

Very lightly raced ex Roger charlton class two winner comes in here at a relatively low level and at this price well worth chancing he retains some ability.April 5, 2024 at 20:24 #1689105Dundalk 8:30
Shamwari
Win
In this small field the top horses will be obliged to set the running and course winner may be able to sit and wait.
Experienced jockey Dylan Brown Magonagle has ridden for Ballydoyle on Han Christian Anderson and it’s no fairy tale story to say the blue blood is not the easiest ride. Shamwari has run well behind O’Briens runners twice including on debut behind little red riding hood on this course, and in listed company behind Tower of London. She looks best treated here given all the allowances.April 5, 2024 at 23:43 #1689128Unlucky with Shamwari tonight Sam beaten by AOB’s beautifully bred Hans Anderson (Frankel) tonight.
Just popped in to say good luck with the competitions tomorrow.
Louise doing well, been to see her today and things looking up.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 6, 2024 at 01:07 #1689136Hi Jac, please give Louise my very best regards and tell her I said speedy recovery.
Hans did it nicely and happily in profit from the each way runner up at 66/1, forbidden Planet 🌎 earlier.April 6, 2024 at 09:06 #1689144Well done Sam with your runner up and will certainly pass on your good wishes to Louise. Jac
Hope everyone has a profitable day today and although sorry Kelso has been abandoned great to have some flat racing back on the tele this Saturday.
Duty of Care would be a very appropriate winner for me in 3.15 Kempton this afternoon and he is well in at the weights…Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 6, 2024 at 12:03 #1689174Congrats on winning the Godolphin comp Jac! It was always going to be tough to catch you. Hopefully the next comp will be better. Hopefully they will at least make it “worldwide”.
Disappointed at the jump meetings being cancelled. Can’t say I’m surprised though, as it sounds like you’ve had more than your share of rain in the UK.
Hope Louise continues to improve Jac. How’s your kneed Graham??
Good Luck with any bets today and with your comp picks!
Take Care!
April 8, 2024 at 11:39 #1689342Duty Of Care was a really nice winner for me on Saturday, even though I only put him in as reserve in my Pick 3 Horses competition. Can’t believe I’m actually in 4th place in Neil’s Handicap competition as I’m usually hopeless at them but I think we’re going to have a problem catching robnorth. Congrats to Nathan for getting the forecast up and another 16/1 winner in Pick 3, carry on like that Nathan and you’ll be winning both comps.
I just missed out on a big Nap on Saturday when Killybegs Warrior almost made all but got nabbed by wyldesyde’s 25/1 Nap Cemhaan, what a choice that was. Just have to hope we can all find that big winner for the Grand National next Saturday. I would love Kitty’s Light to win for Christian Williams and his little daughter Betsy who loves this horse and is receiving treatment for Leukaemia, very close to our hearts with Louise having gone down that road from age 2 to 7.
Had a lovely visit Leeds Castle yesterday and it was even better than I had imagined. I took some beautiful pictures and and the flowers, gardens and Castle were immaculate, there is a Maze (which we didn’t venture into for fear of missing our coach home..lol) and a Birds of Prey section where they have Falconry Displays about twice daily, sadly it was too windy for them to fly yesterday but we did see quite a few Hawks and Owls who are extremely well cared for.
Louise continues to improve leaps and bounds and had a visit from little Oscar that cheered her up no end. She should be home in a couple of weeks and we are of course looking into the reason her injections were stopped, which has been discovered as the reason for her relapse. Can’t say much more about that until talks have taken place but will of course keep updating on here.
Wilson is also back to ‘almost’ his oldself but still wearing his Paw Patrol ‘body armour’.
Looking forward to the Aintree Competition and fighting Raymo for the wooden spoon.
Hope you are getting on well Graham and your knee is improving also that Marjorie is keeping well too. Good luck for Aintree later in the week and finding that 100/1 Grand National winner and a few good price places.
Looking forward to the Craven Meeting at Newmarket soon upcoming after the Grand National and just can’t wait to be round that paddock again.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 10, 2024 at 14:31 #1689525So glad to hear Louise is doing so much better Jac! That has to be a relief for everyone.
I drove by Leeds Castle every day for about 3 years when I lived in England, but never actually visited it! Maybe next time I’m back in England.
Looking forward to the Aintree Comp starting tomorrow. The fields for a lot of the Grp 1 races look small, but hopefully they will be competitive.
At this time of year, I often think back to 1973 edition, when the mighty Crisp almost made it getting caught on close to the line by Red Rum. I still cheer him home over 50 years later. I was never a Red Rum fan after that, although he was a “national treasure”
Take Care All
April 10, 2024 at 22:22 #1689619Good luck in the Aintree Comp Andre and everyone.
I was on Crisp too (6 pence EW with my dad..lol) it was heartbreaking that he lost like that but Red Rum is a Legend..like Arkle and Dessie. We can at last relax as Louise is getting so much better and on regular meds which will probably now be ongoing and should never have been stopped. It is all being looked into now but why do so many MH patients get lost in the system? We are moving on now and she will soon be back home with her husband and little boy.
Back to racing…Graham you won’t be surprised to see that I have Napped Marie’s Rock tomorrow Bet you’ll be burning the midnight oil picking out your winners 🏆 and hope to see us all back here tomorrow celebrating some nice wins.
Goes without saying that we wish all the horses and jockeys safe passage. JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 11, 2024 at 01:57 #1689638Best news all week Jac that Louise is improving. Tell her that EVERYONE
is rooting for her from here. We’re all old enough that we’ve been through
a few traumas ourselves, so we maybe understand. I’ve no doubt she’ll get
thereWell done with Duty Of Care Jac, that was a screamer
You’re doing great in the competiion Jac,in with a real shout. I think
I’ll need a 401 nap to have much chance of catching you lotI have backed a couple in the National Jac, Delta Works at 33/1 e/w Bet365
and 41/1 on the exchange win only. I’ve also backed one I used to think would
come to something , Eklak De Rire, he didn’t quite get there but he was 154
rated in his day but down to 146. He’s only 10, a good age for the National a
nd he’s one that will handle the ground. I’ve got him 100/1 e/w and 150/1 on
the nose on the exchange.Poor Wilson, I just liked the thought of little Wilsons running around,
but no doubt the right decision was made in the end. He’ll miss his two
friends thoughI’m doing alright with my knee Jac, gone from two crutches to one, and the
occassional hobble without them. Only thing is, when the surgeon (who clearly
was under pressure) examined my knee, which was like a balloon, he asked “is
that sore” no I replied, the questioning went on I kept saying, it’s only when
I put weight on my left leg and because I could raise my heal (slightly) my
he thought my tendons, although ruptured, were not severed. No bone breakage
I was told. He came back a while later and said he thought they would do a CT
scan The scan was very murky he said, a lot of blood and fluid. However by
the time the swelling had gone done, after I was home, I noticed on my left
kneecap and distinctly bone hard lump protruding. It’s bone, I have no
doubt. Slight change in lower part of my kneecap too. So after seeing my
GP he’s arranging an X-Ray at Dunoon. I know what it’s like to work under
intolerable pressure so I don’t blame the surgeon. Anyway, all it will
probably mean is I Have a knee with a bump.Andre I remember Crisp well, I could have wept after it. Some things you just
can’t change.Anyway, knee bump or not, let’s hope we have a great and profitable Aintree everyone
